Personally,I feel that one can push with more force than pull.Vic you won't get confused about whitch way to move the handle.Being pulled through the pits and the burn out will make it very clear to your brain.Maybe having a positive stop on the handle so no one can move it the wrong way.[Also on my car]

pull back the brake lever only to ram into it...
lesson learned.....

Lots of the old cars were push brake. Up to you, mine is pull, with four wheel discs it only takes a little tap to stop it . I prefer pull, but like I said a lot of guys like the push. One thing about it, when you leave and you are holding the car with the brake handle only, (no trans brake), it will throw your hand back and release the brake when you leave if it's a push. Up to you.

I couldn't hold my heap in the beams with only the rear brakes so i had a transbrake valvebody installed in my 400t.....

When I got my car there was no brake handle so I made one. I decided to put in a push brake and have the fire bottle handle on the lever. This way if you need to activate the bottles, you do not have to let go of the brake handle.
When I was having problems with the brakes a couple of years ago, I changed it to a pull handle to see if I could put more pressure on the system. It seemed to work better for me, so I left it that way. It is all a matter of personal preference. I can't really say that I like one way better than the other.
Vic, I don't see getting used to it to be that big of a problem, as, after making a couple of thousand passes in your shop going vroom, vroom, and winning every race on the NHRA and IHRA trail several times, including whipping all the big boys, you'll be used to whatever style you choose!!

And don't even try to yell us you haven't done the vroom, vroom thing at least a few hundred times by now, cause we won't believe you!!

Vic, If you want to change that to a pull brake you may want to get one of these from MW.

Just mount it to the bottom frame rail and either modify your brake handle or use a new one.

Just try to keep the center to center measurements the same as you have in order to get the proper leverage and pressure at the caliper.

BTW, If you are considering getting a brake pressure gauge to check the brake pressure, get it from Strange as they are half the cost as others and the gauge is easier to read.
