John, I was really touched when I did find your post about Gib, knowing that Gib considered you one of his best friends. Any time he talked about you, it was that he looked up to you, one of the reasons being because of the way you lead your life. He also admired your creativity and how much you love your family.

Thanks for checking out my MySpace page - the girls remind me of Gib, too. They are Daddy's girls but are resilient, so we are trying to be positive and remember all of the good times in the past. I have to believe things happen for a reason, too.

I knew you still would be playing in a band -- you're quite talented. My brother is a huge fan of drag racing and is now in the process of remodeling 3 1965 Chevy Stingray's. I go to car shows with him and have a great time. His main passion is aviation, and he lives in his hangar with a condominium built inside. Lots of room for lots of cars and planes.

That I will do, Kris...I think Gib and I had the same ideals and we understood each other and related to each other's lives with respect and admiration as men. I learned a lot about life from talking to him. He gave me good advice by just giving me his opinion, and he always gave me plenty of room to respond. It sounds like your brother also has the right idea! Why not do the things you enjoy doing and the benefits will follow! I'll be in touch in the future. I'm getting old and I'm not running at the same speed I did when the Citykings were playing shows...the Pee Wee Bowen Band is more like an orchestra that rocks out and my job is to twang the guitar and sing songs when Pee Wee takes a break. We play every weekend. I'm the third-youngest member at 59. These guys are all about the music and it's great to be playing with musicians who have such high standards. Our pay scale reflects these ethics. Anyway, you take care. It is great to hear from you! John

You are so fortunate Bro'. The wonderful,giving people that you have had in your life.Truly a blessing.
While I am not familiar with many that end up mentioned here I do find some comfort in their stories.
We all benefit in hearing positive messages about positive people.
Sadly sometimes though,they both leave us too soon.

It seems the best of us are taken away too soon and we only have a brief window to remember them in. Gib Crunk was truly something special. He had a kind of glow around him...an aura. It was like the room lit up when he walked in. His manners, his personality, all of what was Gib was right up-front. He had a total command of presence about him. He was an amazing conversationalist, as good of a listener as he was a talker...he truly communicated man-to-man, heart-to-heart, soul-to-soul...always bringing up the positive aspects of even the seemingly most negative of situations...he was unforgettable, and I posted his passing here because somebody like Gib just doesn't come along every day. I was blessed to have him as a friend, and as it goes with so many we lose, I regret that I wasn't around that much after I retired...but I know he understands. Thanks. WC1
