I didn't go far enough into Rossler's site to find the good one. They are actually about the same price. . I think the Coan was about 5,400 if I remember right. Rossler is on sale on though, on their site for $4,995.

BTW, pro, The guy we talked to at the Drag Expo is Dave Coan. He is the owner of the company.
   That's why I was sold I guess.

Another good tranny guy in Ohio is Abruzzi (www.abruzziracing.com). I've heard good things about his stuff. I've been running an ATI, but will probably run over to him (he's only about a half hour away) when it comes time for a fresh one.

Perry, we are running an ATI too. We sent the convertor in to have the stall changed from 5500 to 3000, they did it fast and a small charge, it's been flawless. But we don't stand on the brake much at all. Now we won't use the brake at all, just to hold it on the line. E-ville was the only time I stood on it very long, because the guy couldn't figure out whether he wanted to throw the switch or not!!

If it makes any type of dent into your decision... There's been a Hughes Transmission in the dragster for well over... 2 years now without any type of problem.

Thanks Heather. I've got some Hughes literature around here someplace. That's another good idea.

Go with the Rossler!I have a 10 Clutch Rossler Glide,Its been GREAT!Cant understand WHY you wiould even think of a 400 over the Glide???When my last 400 came out,and the Glide went in?All of the Disasters, were GONE with the 400!
The Problem with COAN,there is LOVE with there Parts!Just Look at there Prices compared to everyone elses?

But,thats why they make Chevys and Fords! To each his own???

Heres what my deal WAS?
I had a Killer Glide! And ,I listend to everybody elses BS about how a Glide would'nt hold up to my Blower Motor and so on.............so DUMMY Me,i Sold the Glide?
Bought 1 of these (BULLET PROOF)400's what a POS!!!!!!!!!!I spent more Time pulling that thing out then the Rest of the Car Total! As a matter of Fact,I wore out several sets of 3/8 Bolts, that would be the ones that heald the Trans to the Motor!
Needless to say, went back to GLIDE! And, SAZZZZZZZZZAM!Trans Probs GONE!
BUT,i your case?Things could be Different?Combo Wise? That all Factors in!
With an 1800lb Car,and 15 to 1700HP you would think that the OLD 400T would Work? And,NOT the 61 Chevy GOOFYGLIDE?????????
Technoligy is something that changes Daily???
Good L:UCK!with your Deal!
I hope what ever Direction you decide to go with 1st,works BEST!!!
