The red/white version was owned/driven by Coloradoan Jim Nordhougen as a Nitro Coupe and sometimes AA/FC match racer. Jim knew well the history of the car and often joked about it being the World's Oldest Active Funny Car. Too much grief from the other Nitro Coupe racers forced him to park it and build a more conventional car, (his Willys).

Mel Marrs left for Oklahoma and was living in Paris, Texas. He likes to move alot.

That's interesting info on the flopper running in Nitro Coupe. Seems to me that he would have less track tuning ability in the (lack of) suspension, but better weight distribution? Anyway, cool... bp
