you didn't leave the slicks on the car over the winter did you ?? if you did they might have taken set and are oblong (egg shaped) the softer compounds are prone to this , My partner ruined a set of Firestones this way. they should be stored on there sides on plywood ,divided ,covered and inflated to max spec ., sitting a couple of days shouldn't affect them .

Yes! Always have left them on car. Last winter was up on stands for storage. But, past years it sat in the trailer for the winter, not on stands, and setting 1/2 flat most of the time! So, not good eh! It may be time for some new rubber!!!!$$$$$

Had a friend run the car on a jack @ 3000rpm in drive.
Held a peice of chalk and marked the slicks.
It made a line about 34" on both slicks. Left slick, if I take the center of the line and set it at 12:00, the right slick center of the line is at 9:00. You can see with the car running in gear, the high spot in both sides.

So what do ya think? Should I remove and rotate one side to make the highs opposite or just get new slicks?

Thanks, Daryl

New slicks wouldn't be a bad idea.

Had a friend stop in today. Ran the car while he watched, he told me the same you guys here are telling me. New slicks!
He also pointed to the slick and said " here's the problem!" On the sidewall in print reads Made In Chile. Should have let you all know my slicks are Goodyear. I remember now of racers talking about Goodyear moving from Akron to Chile a few years ago and the slicks were not as good.

Any of you still use Goodyears and is Goodyear making them any better now?
Thanks again for all the feedback, Daryl

Time for some new rubber, and use to old ones for winter storage ( get a set of used or cheap rims) .

my freind went from Goodyears to hoosiers ( melted them down) to mickeys , and likes the mickeys the best , they need little heat and last longer than the goodys, when he did the hoosiers he melted them down in one season and the tread pealed off ( we used a tire their rep recommended ) and the car was all over the track.
