Tonight I painted the chassis

Postby Rapid Randy Baker » Wed Mar 07, 2007 1:35 am

I painted the chassis and a bunch of other pieces tonight. It is a dark charcoal grey with tons of metallic in the color. I think it looks pretty good, but it really doesn't show up in these photos.

I also moved the body out of the booth and snapped a side view.

Looking good Rapid. I have a couple of questions.
How far out is the motor on this car?
Are the dzus springs on the motor plate mounts for the tin work, or do they hold a piece that the body rests on?
How do you adjust the weight of the weight bar on the front?

Thanks Rocky. The engine is out 65-inches. Our 23T was out 62-inches.

You are correct, the dzus fasteners hold a piece of formed aluminum that the firewall seals against. Good eyes!! 8)

The weight bar is the biggest part hanging closest to the paint room door. It has a gas cap type screw on cap on one end. It slides into the frame rails to mount.

Thanks Randy. What is the larger tube on the front end of the chassis for?
