And I believe it's a smart way of telling the John Force story in a fashion that's probably more "digestible" for most of the masses-- Folks no longer seem to have the attention spans necessary to sit down with a "serious read", so maybe this more "pop culture" format of a book will prove to be successful... I admire Ashley for coming up with the concept and seeing it through fruition... Too many people take the "true grit" history of John Force for granted, just 'cause he has zillions of dollars these days, the truth is that he paid more painful dues to get where he is than some folks could ever realize (or want to realize)... Also on your deal about photographer, remember IHRA banning photographers at there meets.
Only a guy by the name of Brian Epps was allowed to take pictures, I believe.

Thanks, Jack, I'm appreciative of you and all the folks who enjoy reading my blog-- Coincidentally, in today's blog I discuss how Drag Racing Underground's resident geeks just informed me that the blog recently took another soaring leap in cyber traffic (I'm very thankful for that)... Also thought I'd mention that I just noticed in my most recent issue of Old Bridge Township Raceway Park's "RACEWAY NEWS" publication, another venue that I write for, I see the official "JACK APPROVED" stamp of approval printed in the section that lists all the track's contact info and staff members (including yours truly)--- So, it's encouraging to see RACEWAY NEWS is proudly showing its JACK APPROVED status to the world... If Del Worsham isn't making as much money wrenching for the Kalitta camp, as he did driving for Al-Anabi Racing, I'd think he probably isn't taking too much of a pay cut-- Who knows??-- Maybe the money is about the same-- Either way, I'm sure Del will be financially fine under Connie's wing... I haven't really been following the Al-Anabi drama much, been too busy packing and shipping Drag Racing Underground dvd orders for the heavy Christmas rush... As far as the recent expose concerning the increasing amount of impoverished veteran drag racing photographers, as most folks know, I urge the "new generation" of drag racing shutterbugs to "wise up", and not to make the same crucial financial mistakes as the photographers of years gone by have-- Yeah, it's all well and good to "Do it for Love", but also make sure that you're getting fairly compensated for your work-- My old Atco buddy, the late Steve Collison, taught me that you gotta get paid for your work... I think IHRA must have learned, as well as others have, that "photography exclusivity" deals are always a major marketing mistake-- It just doesn't work for anyone's benefit... For those readers who race, the off season often means they have leisure time to kick back on the couch, and watch their Drag Racing Underground dvds over and over again-- And while I certainly approve of that behavior pattern, I'm also concerned that all my racer friends remain competitively sharp through the winter months... Hence, I recommend they bond with the Christmas Tree, and not just the one on display with colored lights and tinsel in their home, but the "practice" Christmas Tree that they should be spending some of their time with...
