Hahahaha  Bob called me last night after he saw my post. Here's how the first part of the conversation went.

Bob: What in the $#%@ is your problem? You $%^&'n @#$*&^%! &*^^&$% pete, nuthin like kickin a guy when he's down!!! What the $#%^ .....and so on and so forth for about ten minutes. To which I replied....And?      Bob is a good guy and a very competent crew chief. We talk at great lenghts about engines and stuff, I've learned a lot from him. It's good to have friends you can razz that razz you back.
If you think it's exciting now, wait till we start it.

Sorry folks that I haven't posted back to the other post's here lately. Sorry about that guys & I apologize. I'll answer each one soon!!!! I promise.
Here's another reason why, I took the crank to get it wet magged, a better way to magnaflux steel parts and the crank is cracked. Funny thing is, it is not cracked where I thought it would be, it is not cracked on the # 1&2 journal where blower motors crack cranks, it is cracked on the # 5&6 journal. It's a small crack about 3/8's long, if it was just in the radius of the journal, I could live with that for awhile, but the crack is migrating out of the radius into the side of the crank. Just great, more junk parts, well it's now official, the short block is JUNK
I apologize again for not posting back. Sorry :(

It's amazing how things break isn't it? When I broke mine this year, all the visible damage was on #3/4 rod journal, but the #4 main journal was cracked.

Thanks BP, might not have to wait until next season :? Steve and I are very adamant now about getting this engine fixed and trying like hell to get back out there this year still. So keep your fingers crossed I just may have a couple of race reports to post yet before the year is over. 8)

Good to hear you'll have it back together & ready for '08 Bob. Sure would be great to be there in person to watch it go down the track & to meet you one of these days. 8) 8)
Thanks Pro 8)
If I have my way, we might still run yet this year, and the good thing is, Steve is full agreement with me. 8)
So pack your bags & travel on down to Cincy, we just might be able to put on a show yet this year. :D
Providing I am not working out of town I AM going to be at the DLN's next year. :D
