The test and tune has been completed, and his license runs are complete. Mikey made three passes Saturday, and he did AWESOME!! Even though he missed getting into the 7 second zone, he did manage to set a new best ET, MPH, and 60' times for himself.
The first pass was a tire fryer, but he clicked off a 9.04 in the process. It was a bit too much power for the track. After adjusting a few things, he went back to the line to give it another try. This trip down the track tested his reflexes, when the second stage hit, the car got a little out of shape and he lifted. That decision proved to be the right one, and one that made me proud to know that he is not out to prove anything. Back in the pits, we made some power adjustments and went back up for the third and final run. The adjustments were exactly what was needed and despite having to lift a few times, he stopped the clocks at 8.192 with a 167.76 mph slip. Had it not been for lifting those times, it was an easy 7 second pass. A cold front starting moving in and we decided to call it a day. The photo shoot for Sunday was postponed due to the rains that came in and never left. We'll be back on May 31st for the first of the four Nostalgia events for this season.
