The Night Shift

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

I probably said that wrong, Doc...you pop open the distributor and there's a rotor with a metal contact thingie that turns around and clicks on these metal thingies that are arranged in circular fashion around the inside wall of the distributor...I called 'em points...but they probably have a correct name. Anyway, Manuel polished 'em, scraped on 'em with a screwdriver...he's a savage, what can I say...Thanks for the tip, I'll get one. Cheers, WC1

I been there, too. Good old 63 Econoline named Nadine. Her specialty was stopping in toll booths down in Virginia Beach. Wouldn't start back up until the guy was pulling up behind me with the tow truck. Then she'd fire up and away she'd go... damned thing... just wouldn't be true... finally rolled her on the PA turnpike... a fitting demise... bp

Could be. Engine was original. Then I had some guys put in a brand new six cylinder from a Mustang II that had crashed. Ran like a top after that, but I was routinely driving that thing at 70 and no way the van was built for that... bp

Last night, Whiskey Saints practice in League City. Tonight, Citykings practice in Memorial. Saturday night, Shakedown live at Beamer's in South Houston. The Saints are booked at 5th Street again for June 17th. Here is the flyer...I will ask the Citykings if they want May 13 there. It's a nice place. Don't pay nothing ($100 for a band) but it's fun and it's a live gig...if they don't do it, I'm going to play the gig as Johnny Keys, my nickname with Shakedown. I'll throw a group together and go play my stuff, what the heck. My classes start up again next week at College of the Mainland Learning Center. I'll give a songwriting class for 6 weeks. That should be challenging, but I'm also going to bring in a guest here and there and share our knowledge with the folks taking the class. It's going to be interesting...Everybody have a great Thursday night! WC1

I started to post this in "Gas Prices", but it's kinda personal so I'm puttin' it here. My Dad called me today and offered me his Ford Focus wagon until I get Ludwig fixed. I thanked him, but I declined for now, but he left the door open for me to get it any time. Not long after I had that conversation, Billy called and we talked about it. He offered a perspective on it that I hadn't thought of. It was probably my Dad telling me that he doesn't want to drive it. I think I'm going down there Sunday to pick it up. Cheers, WC1
