While the Nostalgia Funny Car scene is a real blast in my opinion, there's a number of fans of the genre not pleased by the diminishing number of "dry hops" that the current crop of old school oriented Flopper pilots do... I discuss this somewhat heated issue in my popular Drag Racing Underground blog... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Today's blog... "MORE FRUMPIN' DRY HOPS, PLEASE!!", SAYS SOME NOSTALGIA FUNNY CAR FANS...

I air readers views regarding the ADRL's announcement of their revolutionary new SUPERCAR SHOWDOWN category... My recent acknowledgement of black drag racers for Martin Luther King Day is discussed... And I also talk about fellow female drag journalist Susan Wade taking my NHRA stars "Pizza Prints" concept to the head office... All this in today's blog installment... Darrell Waltrip has finally been elected into NASCAR's Hall of Fame... Yeah, I know what some of my readers are saying to themselves, they're sayin', hey now, isn't this a drag racing blog?!?-- What the heck does Darrell Waltrip have to do with drag racing?!?... Well, I discuss my meeting with the NASCAR legend, and I talk about the respect he showed for me, and for our straightline form of motorsport... All this from a day when Drag Racing Underground was given the opportunity (and security clearance) to REALLY occupy Wall Street... It's a boogity, boogity, boogity blog blast... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Just a few years ago, some folks were ready to give America's "Big Three" auto manufacturers their last rights and bury them... Since then, Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler have worked hard and gotten back to producing cars that have style, reliability, and consumer appeal... The industry has made a complete turnaround... Sales for all of the "Big Three" are up... It's a real "Cinderella" story that should make us all proud... Now that there's much sunnier skies ahead for America's "Big Three", I remind them of my desire to see them make a more substantial presence for themselves in our sport of drag racing... In today's blog I urge Ford, GM, and Chrysler to spend more of their recovering budgets on drag racing... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Although I rarely talk about it, Drag Racing Underground and I are known for working behind the scenes to improve the lives of current and former soldiers of the United States Marine Corps... It's for that reason, among others, that I dedicate today's blog to fallen Marine, Cpl. Kevin James Reinhard, who recently lost his life with five other soldiers when their CH-53D Helicopter went down in Afghanistan...

It's FEEDBACK FRIDAY... I post responses from my Semper Fi followers regarding fallen Marine Cpl. Kevin Reinhard... I deal with critics who think I'm too easy on my judgement of Courtney Force... I thank y'all for filling my "Glamour Hot Rod Photography for Hire" Summer schedule... I take on those who whine over my recognizing Darrell Waltrip's NASCAR Hall of Fame induction... And I finally provide a photograph for all my readers who've been begging me to let them see a photo of Selky aka "Bucky Buck", the Drag Racing Underground's sweet little guinea pig girl mascot... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

By popular demand, heeere's Selky aka "Bucky Buck". Her nickname "Bucky Buck" is due to her tendency to become a bit rambunctious when her vittles and hay aren't delivered to her in what she believes to be a timely fashion, she tends to buck around and raise a slight ruckus. However, she's really an adorable sweetheart. Selky's our official mascot here at Drag Racing Underground world headquarters... She's most definitely our resident "Celebrity Hay Authority & Vittles Visionary"...

Am I the next "Chief Starter" for the NHRA??... Uh, I don't think so... With former Chief Starter, Rick Stewart, retired, the rumor mill is buzzing with ridiculous talk of who will replace him... As much as I love drag racing, I still have a BIG STICK album to finish, and to be honest, I don't really want the job... However, I speculate in today's blog who I believe would make for a good replacement, including William Shatner and comedian Christopher Titus... I acknowledge the passing of Mr. "Super Camaro", Perry Wyatt Sr., the father of Perry Wyatt Jr.... I make reference to the time I interviewed Perry Jr. due to my amazement of his incredibly pure and genuine enthusiasm for the old school Funny Car scene... And I credit the source of where that euphoric enthusiasm comes from, his beloved Dad...

I tackle the very sensitive and long running debate of whether or not the worlds of rock 'n' roll and drag racing can truthfully share any sense of REAL unity... It's a subject that people in the music industry and the drag racing business can never quite seem to agree on... I bring up Dick Smothers of the Smothers Brothers, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and more... All this in today's somewhat controversial blog... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Today is part 2 of my blog installment discussing how when the worlds of Rock 'N' Roll and Drag Racing collide it can be a good thing... I mention some recording artists and songs that I believe do justice to straight line racing... And I send my best of birthday wishes to Barb Santucci, the gal who contributes so much to making DragList's Racin' & Rockin' radio show such a great program... All this and more in my alter-ego driven drag racing blog... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...
