hmmm...I "think" that's where some creative tuning and adjustments come into the mix........(timing.....jet sizes....retard settings....tire pressure...launch rpms.....shift rpms, etc.)......At this point in time....nobody is really "nailing" the index (5.30).....so a good lite and a .32 or a .33 out the back door can go some rounds......the guys who are trying to slow down to the index "should" be in trouble..........(and Yes...I realize some of 'em may lurk in here...but...oh well...).....If I can, I'll set mine up to be in the low .32/.35 range......If I leave on 'em.....they'll have to break out to get around me......(Ok....so it "sounds" good in theory   )

The "Bracket" racers around this area are a killer bunch.....and "IF" throttle stops were an option in the 5.30 class, I'd prolly be in trouble.....but you have to tune to the index in this class..... .400 Pro Tree, Heads Up, Breakout in effect.....sitting here at this puter (car not quite ready yet  ) I like my chances.........and what the heck....if I get my butt handed to me in the first round....I'll shake the guy's (or grll's) hand and pour me a fresh DP.....It won't be like they are deflowerin' a virgin when it comes to me gettin' the "yellow" copy of a time slip  ......

One of these days, I'm gonna have to get some sleep :( .........Sheesh, what a long weekend..........
To the track Friday eve, for t-n-t with a friend's Camaro......he went a 6.38 @ 108 on a small kit (nos)....then I drove it on two systems......got to busting up pretty bad, so I lifted and coassted through....went a 6.38 @ 90........
Got back to Tim's shop and i WENT out to work on Peggy's wiring......knocked off at prolly 5:30 or so in the a.m.......TIm woke me up at about 9.........then we cut the cage out of a Malibu and had a guy bring us a Mustang to look at...(he stuffed it in the guard rail a couple of weeks ago :( )......he wants Tim and I to fix it for him....and "should" be bringing it back to us next weekend...........then we finished cleaning up from cutting out the Bu cage.........then I went back out and worked on Peggy's wiring some more....called it quits at about 2:30 a.m.

Tim smacked the outside wall of Clyde at about 9.30 Sunday morn, and we jumped on that Bu with both feet.........got "most" of the cage (chrome-moly) fitted and tacked in place, but we ran outta tubing to work with....so HE went to his back shop and finished assembling his sbc for a NOva he's been workin' on and I finished up my wiring in Peggy..........Even got the Aooga horn in place....BOY that thing is LOUD!!!!  ......"Should: get folk's attention  ......TIm told me he can picture it now.......I'm gonna be heading up to the staging lanes...and some great big, black, UGLY fella is gonna be in my way...and I'm gonna blow that dadgum horn......and scare the black off of the guy...and THEN he's gonna beat the white off'n ME!!!   .......Oh well....folks outta pay attention to their surroundings  .....
