Thanks everybody. Finished a project today, Not "Z" related" but a needed addition to the shop. Monday I went to an open house & ended up buying a hot laminator. NO MORE HAND LAMINATING, OH BOY.

LQQKs like it won't be here 'til Monday now [it was spoz' to be here tomorrow, Friday], but I'm ready Ann E. Thyme.

Tore the old cabinets out. They'd gotten wet from leaky bottles of anti freeze & car products over the years & were about done for Ann E. Weigh.
This deal laminates the print & also applies the print to any substrate 1" thick or less, so I needed to put it in a place where there's plenty of room to work. The tired old cabinets in the garage seemed like the best spot.

Since I'm short on space I built the frame out of some angle Iron & Square tubing I had in the shop. Nice & strong & takes up minimal space on the sides. Oh, BTW, those are the old cabinets I'm usin' as paint stands.

The back wall was a little beat up from the old cabinets, so I used some vinyl I printed a long time ago & didn't want to throw out. Never know when that stuff might come in handy. It was a quick way to clean it up. Reused the counter top. The outlets that were above the counter top are just right for the laminator.

All done. I put sweeps on the bottom of the doors to keep the dust out for when I use the leaf blower........I mean the broom to clean the garage.

Couple closer shots of the doors. I used the same eagle I put on the window print on the truck.

Thought I'd throw the truck in there too, just because I can.

All that's left is to wait for the crew to bring the new unit. Whenever that might be.

"GOT PICS" Jean.........but not the kind you migh be LQQKin' for....... :D

Turns out the machine I was waiting for these last few days doesn't exist in any warehouses around here.
So I got an upgrade to the bigger model.

Good news, it works like a champ & is going to make life much easier.

Bad news, the cabinet is too small for the bigger unit so it's back to the drawing board. Doors will become wall art somewhere. :dontknow: :BangHead:

Good news, framework is steel so I can just add on to that.

Since the fridge had to go, I'm going to build a closet on the end with the space that's left to keep laminator tools & an inventory of laminates.

Looks like I'll be blowin' another Saturday on building a cabinet.
