Basic tune up? It all basic. Just like being in basic, except for the pushups.

Its a pretty easy setup:

The pump flows 6.6 gpm free flow
6.34 gpm with 100 psi back pressure

Nozzles: .032 X 8 =.008192 area
Main jet .120= .011310 area
Hi-speed .040=.001257 area

Total area = .020759

.005 butterfly clearance
35% barrel leakage
Secondary poppet at 43lbs
idle check at 6.5 lbs
hi speed at 73 lbs or 6179 rpms

System pressure is 108.04 lbs

Idle rpms are 1550

The a/f for the main only is 4.88
The a/f for the main w/hi speeed is 5.22

Im using 33.9% of the pump capacity or 2.15 gpm going in

This is base line for 650 hp at 6500 rpms at 3800 DA

If i put in 20% nitro, it changes the sp gravity of the fuel from .789 @ 75 degrees to .858. It is now more dense. Nitro in small % actually makes it richer since the fuelis now more dense. To make up for it if i dont load the engine harder, I will need to lean the main to make up for the denser fuel. this is true up to 33% as the sp gravity rises faster than the a/f requirements. After 70%, the a/f requirements change faster than the sp gravity of the fuel does. That is why you will see a blank in the main instead of a jet as it needs more fuel to keep the a/f correct. At 20% i will actually be using only 1.98 gpm but i will need to fatten the barrell to make it hit gd on the stands.
