Thanks, Bill, and I certainly give credit to E'Town photographer John McCartney for taking such a groovy pic, he's a very talented lenseman... Today is my third installment of my Rock 'N' Roll and Drag Racing as bedfellows series... I dedicate it to artist extraordinaire Robert Williams' CHROME SMOKE & FIRE two LP picture disc compilation of his all time favorite hot rod music... 43 songs in chronological order, starting with Ramblin' Jimmy Dolan's "HOT ROD RACE" of 1946, and ending with Big Stick's "Drag Racing" of 1986... Needless to say, I'm honored to be included in Robert's favorite hot roddin' songs... I discuss the colorful two record set that's become the undisputed most sought after item among serious hot rod music aficionados... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Hot Rod buffs and serious music aficionados agree that Robert Williams' compilation of his all time favorite hot rodding tunes stands as the best collection of the genre ever assembled. The colorful artwork and priceless gearhead music can't be beat...

... And there's Big Stick's "DRAG RACING" tune for the grand finale...

P.S. My absolute favorite song from the CHROME SMOKE & FIRE compilation is The Collins Kids' "Hot Rod", a song that the darling brother and sister duo recorded in the 1950's. Here's a FREE YouTube link to them performing it live on the "Western Ranch Party" TV show in 1958. I simply LOVE this!!...

Yes, Bill, it's one of my most treasured items in my record collection... Robert Williams is an incredible hot rod artist, and he picks some really interesting songs for his CHROME SMOKE & FIRE compilation... With so many people talking about tomorrow's NFL SuperBowl XLVI, I decide to give some equal time to NHRA's upcoming SuperNationals... The event takes place at E'Town May 31st through June 3rd, so I urge my readers to mark those dates on their calendar and get their advance tickets... It's without doubt one of the best events on the grueling NHRA Championship Drag Racing tour... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

It's eerily quiet and empty now. However, come May 31st through June 3rd, the 43rd Annual Toyota NHRA SuperNationals pulls into Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. I recommend my readers order their advance tickets now so that they're well prepared to experience drag racing's "Super" event!! E'Town puts on a heck of a show!!...

Not since Whit Bazemore stirred up controversy among NHRA followers when "flipping the bird" at Scotty Cannon have we witnessed such hoopla regarding the lewd hand gesture... Last night's Super Bowl half-time fiasco, where singer M.I.A. did the same to zillions of TV viewers has activated a media firestorm... I compare and analyze the two separate incidents in today's blog... And I provide a link to a free YouTube video, where you'll see me behind the scenes at an NHRA press conference, discussing Whit's flipping of the bird with Drag Racing Underground honcho Mike Bennett... Once again, the idea of a cockpit canopy for Top Fuel diggers is on the table for discussion and debate... Don Schumacher is now aggressively carrying the torch, advocating for canopies in T/F racing... "Big Daddy" Don Garlits is also known for firmly believing in canopies (among UFOs and other things)... Schumacher's new call for the T/F canopy is being met with some serious opposition... I bring fair play to the argument and see the issue from all sides... I use today's blog to remind folks that Oct 12, 13 & 14 is the 10th Annual SHAKEDOWN AT E'TOWN at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park... I discuss the sort of record breaking performances and big names that make this race the biggest outlaw doorslammer shindig in the world... I also list the competing classes (including some additions) in my blog... This event earns my highest rating of "5 Doc Stars", and ranks as my "MOST RECOMMENDED RACE OF THE 2012 SEASON", so you know it's absolutely guaranteed to please!... Thanks, Bill, it's sort of a dramatic looking pic... E'Town looks good when the sky appears like it does in that photo.... I snapped it after treating myself to a new 13 megapixel digital camera... In today's blog I share a heads-up from my friends, the B-52's, news that on Valentine's Day, this Tues, Feb 14, the kids on the Fox-TV show Glee are going to perform "Love Shack"... I've never watched Glee before, but I'll tune in for this... And of course as some of you may or may not know, Fred Schneider from the B-52's is a big fan of my musical thing, Big Stick, and he sings lead vocals on a song of ours called "Hot Sauce", a song that we'll be releasing in 2012... I've always loved the colorful band that originated from Athens, Georgia... I also advise my readers of an upcoming performance by George Clinton and crew at Sayreville's Starland Ballroom... While the "NASTY BUCKET" is indeed a fictional Fuel Altered, we all definitely do agree that Fuel Altereds are OUTTA-SIGHT!!...
