Pro, there was a lot of people who thought we got the wall. It was Bobby Vorin's car,,the All American,,,who I was racing hit the wall also. The other car, from Wyoming crashed late Sat. Night,,,badly taking out the far wall and cancelling the final round match-ups. It was Dunn and Elrod in the finals. They each did burnouts for the crowd, and then idled down the track for the split of the final round.

Total of three cars crashed into the wall.

So sorry to hear about Pappy's knee, Rapid. He's a tough hombre, and he came right back to work on the car...that speaks volumes of the type of man he is and all of you are. I'm also sorry to hear about the wall hits, but it sounds like the competition was exteme and those cars can get a mind of their own real quick. With your driving skill and the preparations that go into a Nitro Madness run, I was not surprised to hear that you didn't go into the wall; I'm just glad you came through it all with you and the car OK. Just what you've said so far tells me that this was one wild and wooly event...I'll say a special prayer for Pappy. What he did was heroic. WC1

We couldn't keep him down. I tried to keep him off his leg as much as possible. I know it had to be hurting, but he said it wasn't bad. He went to the tower for a while and we got him golf cart rides when he needed to go somewhere.

Thanks for all the kind words. I saw more smiles per customer than any event I have been to lately. We had people who just came to watch from all parts of the country. One guy came from Tampa, Fl and said he "Gave up going to Boise" to come here!!! Now how cool was that? 8)

A great show, a ton of fans, if I recall, 3 cars hit the wall on Friday and of course the bad (worst I have ever seen) accident Saturday. From what I have heard he is OK though. (Thank you God)

A BIG tip of the hat goes out to our own Eric from here on the board. He stepped in and helped me the rest of the weekend after we lost Pappy. He is a good friend and really has a great head on his shoulders. His help was really appreciated. To tell you how highly I think of him, I let him make a couple of fuel changes on my car without me. NOBODY gets to do that!!! That is how much confidence I have in him. 8)

Randy,
Jus' hearing this stuff makes me miss those ill tempered, finncky contraptions even more. It also gives me a greater appreciation for the forefathers who did it on hardtail <100in w/b. Hope Pappy gets squared away asap.
Glad you guys had a great show and eagerly awaiting your full report :) .
