Greetings DLN Family. First off DLN site wouldn't let me on. Thanks to BP for helping me get on. I've been checking out events in Greensburg and surrounding towns and starting Thursday found annual events in several towns. All events include Arts & crafts, music games etc. Downtown Greensburg has their Summersounds conceron Friday night (free). Cranberry tesp community days in Cranberry. Zelienople has Horse trading days. New Castle has Hot air balloon Quest with Thursday night Balloon Glow. There's also a 45 mins river boat ride thats goes on the 3 rivers. I checked into downtown Pittsburgh for things to do. It's very expensive to park downtown. they do have a subway " T" that's free for the "Golden Triangle" which consists of downtown stops Wood st station, US steel tower, First Ave and Gateway. I'll call the visitor center to see just how there parking and subway work. Jack, you mention a place for Friday nights dinner, is it in/near Greensburg? As of now Paul and I are coming in Thursday. Can't wait to see everyone.

Greetings one and all!

The River boat sightseeing is a one hour tour of the 3 rivers Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio rivers. There is a Narrator. cost is $ 21.00 pp. This is 39 miles/51 mins from Greensburg. They start tours at 11 a.m and leave every 75 mins with the last one at 8:30pm. Now the Balloon launch between 6-7 pm with the Balloon Glow at 9pm. on Thursday night. Now I need at apologize for not doing a good job on checking out distances. From Hotel to
Pittsburgh ( river boat) ia 38 miles/48mins. from Pittsburgh to New Castle ( Balloon fest) is 54miles/54 mins. From Balloon fest back to Hotel is 84 mile/1hr.28mins. I don't know if this would be to much driving for everyone?? My thoughts on this is ( if we choose to go) would be to take the 2:45-4:00 boat tour. Leave for New Castle and stop along the way for dinner ( I'll check out restaurants). Get to Balloon fest in time to walk around and check out the happenings etc. Friday- Another site ( 1hr drive) is the Flight 93 National Memorial. The visitor center is now open, Free. Friday night after summer sounds concert in Greensburg. Comments???

We've been to the Flight 93 memorial a couple times. It's worth a look I think. They will be building that up for many years to come. It's a huge property with a lot of things planned.
