Rapid..Not to derail,rudely tell a self centered story or be a Bore......Honest!
A few years ago in Seattle, we were struggling to get qualified (Broz too ,as a matter of fact), Anyhow, we were #14....Beverly was packing chutes and hit her ankle on the 8000 foot long wheelie bars. (See Avatar!)
I loaded her in the car (one of Super Chevy's rent a cars that was parked nearby), her beautiful ankle was swollen up like a softball..headed to the bottom of the hill (Hospital)...She was so worried that our #14 spot wouldn't hold up..with one more to go.
I stated.....Whatever! (translation: p*ss on it......3000 miles from home, TV, the great Super Chevy days..seemed insignificant to me at that moment.
The happy ending was that the same Doc that fixed Prudhomme's eye 2 weeks earlier..fixed Beverly's sprained ankle..very good job of it too.
And we remained in the field (by a knat's ass), and went rounds on Sunday... (and Sold a Ton of Shirts)
Well there it is..an Analagy...Laura & Beverly are a Hell of a lot more important than a friggin' race (There were,Are, plenty of Races ahead!)
Of course being scared to death re:$$$$$'s necesssary to keep that tractor plowin'...3000 miles from home keeps you on your toes!(to begin with)
Great Report Randy...You have a Great future!
