just got back from the shop, another 14 hour day. we pulled the engine in the racecar, checked the rods and mains, installed the new rear main seal, reinstalled the engine, and had it running in 3 hours.....................then we figured out that it's pushed the head gaskets out :x :x :x :x :x :x :x soooooooooooo i guess i'll call first thing in the morning to see if i can have some multi layer steel or copper gaskets and a set of arp head studs overnighted. i'm still shootin for friday night, but it depends on whether i can get parts in time or not, i may not get to sleep for the next 2 days :?

thanks lippy, that's some of that sponsorship i've been talking about  i went out to the pool for a swim, and kind of cleared my head, i'm still bent on racing friday night :D but i'm in a better mood now. i didn't tell y'all about the latest addition to the flyin hillbilly raysun teem. one of my best friends has agreed to act as my crew chief ( i'll need at least two members for a back up crew cause i've already proved that the old pile wheelies ) he's been a great help, he's been a close friend of mine for about the last 12 or 13 years. and works with me. he's probably one of the top 3 or 4 mechanics i've ever met and i trust his decisions totaly. his name is jesse rudder, he don't have internet and hates computers so he has no idea what i'm saying about him    i'll try to get a picture posted sometime in the near future. i just wanted to give credit where it's due as he's been a tremendous help to me the last couple of weeks on this old pile, and i need all the help i can get

thanks for all the support everyone, that's one of the reasons i love this place, and want to have it announced as a sponsor ( no bill, i won't send you an invoice  ) to draw more like minded people together here. ............anyway it looks like i'm out for friday, i found some gaskets but the studs are 2 days away no matter what i do. i guess that's one of the few downsides to living in the beutiful ozark mountains. anyway there's a 6.90 index race on the 21st so i don't think i'll have a problem making that one. tonight after work i got most of the roll bar tubing bent like i wanted it and quit . so i hung out with the wife and kids for a while tonight too :D :D :D by the way, i'm making y'all honarary members of the flyin hillbilly raysun teem ( unless you're embarassed to be affiliated with that old junker)
