Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

Thanks for watching it.
As the years pass and I see Vicki's career going, I get a tear.
Remembering her tap dancing as a child, winning many talent contests (against rock bands, etc.) then on to dance, local shows On to Broadway..big time , now hipbonerecords.......Alexus, Bennett brothers,more....and working with Levon Helm.....
needless to say, I am proud as hell.

Deservedly so, Wally. She's amazing and shows that in addition to all your contributions to the sport, you spent a huge amount of time getting your daughter the loving upbringing she needed to thrive. I look at my little Emily and have some of the dreams you've realized. BP

I have myself thought about Emily when I see Vicki doing this. Emily has her Daddy's personality and talent, as does Vicki, and BP and Denise are giving her an upbringing that aligns with what Wally did with Vicki. It wouldn't surprize me at all if Emily is a major contributor to the arts as an adult...I look forward to seeing Vicki's career flourish and to see Emily find her way into the flow when she grows up. You guys are great parents. Cheers, WC1

I haven't said anything about this but I figure I'll go ahead and make a post and maybe some good advice can come in. I trust y'all. You're the people that make a big difference in my life. I just got back from a job interview with National Signs over behind Reliant Stadium, back in town. The band I play with at the college (I'm taking my class to hear them tonight), the Whiskey Saints, is using a store room next to the convenience store that is across the parking lot from the college. A guy named Akbar, an Iranian who is now an American citizen, owns the college, the store, and several other properties in the mainland/bay area, and he has offered the Saints to practice for free in that room...I got there early about a month ago, just got off work...dirty, sweaty, sore and pretty much exhausted. Me and Akbar got to talking and he was interested in my background. I told him that I had retired a year ago from Unocal after 25 years as a graphic illustrator, and he lit up. He got me to take him online from his office and show him Wildcatscratch.com, the Citykings.com, Shakedown-home.com and WallyBell.com...as well as some of my graphic postings on Draglist.com...He flipped. He told me his best friend owns National Signs, a big-time sign company in town, and he would put in a word for me to him...it turned out, the did just that...and the owner alerted his graphics department head that I was coming and they're interested in me. I went in today and interviewed. It went extemely well. I can do their stuff. They like me. He's going to call me back by Friday to let me know...now, behind this, there is another story. Yesterday when I showed up at Randolph's, he had to talk to me. Randolph hasn't been paid in over 3 weeks by the folks we did all this work for. To pay me for last week, he hocked his bass. I got physically sick and almost threw up when he said that. I told him, no. I'm not working for you if you have this going on, man. His truck is 3 payments overdue, his lights are going to be turned off Sunday if he hasn't paid his bill by then, and his phone was down to the last day of its billing cycle. I told him, I have something I can check on. So I told him about this job offer...he said he's appreciated my hard work, but this is what I do best. Do it. I came home and called Bill. I told him to get the money out of WSRJ's account to get Randolph's bass out of hock. Bill left the money with me. I told Randolph about it and he raised hell with me over it, but I said tough. I'll be dropping in around 5PM with the money. Deal with it. I'm not going to work for Randolph any more...not that I haven't loved every single minute of it, but I can't have him doing stuff like that to pay me. He doesn't run his business like it ought to be run...he lets people slide a lot...and it hurts him. People are delighted with the work, but when it's time to write the check, there's a problem or a delay or anything they can come up with that'll keep 'em from paying him and he doesn't push the issue...I didn't tell the guy at National Signs (who is a great guy and was told by the owner to do this, hopefully to hire me), but I now need that job in the worst way. I shined it on and gave the guy my best interview. Lord willing, I will go back to a graphics job next week. Wish me luck. Cheers, WC1

Thanks, y'all...Akbar just called me and he said he's going to talk to Al tonight about me...again...He has been like an angel sent to me, man. He told me that he has seen how I care for my family and how hard I work and the classes I teach and the band that I am arranging with the professors (which instantly skyrocketed to the top of the Bay Area music scene) and he wanted to tell me that I deserve this job. He told me I should have it. I thanked him with all my heart. Now it's going to be up to Al to give me a shot at it...Life is good. Thanks for the positive vibes. I'm meeting Randolph at his house at 5 to get his bass out of hock. He said OK, but he's going to pay it back. I said you do what you need to do when you need to do it. It's Citykings money that bought that bass (an Alembic, 1998 model) and it's going to be Citykings money that gets it back. WC1
