Last Tuesday, November 17, we took the Solid Rock 1971 Mustang Mach I to the Technology Center of DuPage County for a display along with the Illinois Patrol 79 Dodge Omni of Sargeant Mike Johnstone of the Bolingbrook, Il. Police department. Mike's car is part of the Beat the Heat program.
We talked with about 300 students in two sessions on a variety of topics. We stressed the importance of not driving impaired and to always drive safely. We also talked about the safety aspects of these cars and what it takes to run them, along with team work and the importnace of their studies in high school in racing and in life in general.
We will be doing another display on November 30 at the Indian Valley Vocational Center in Sandwich, IL.

Thanks Mr. Jean and BP.
Gary, I'm in the middle of a partial garage makeover. The car has been in the trailer since the end of September. I've been meaning to call you but I figured I'd wait till the car is in the shop. LOL
If you do get up this way call me and I'll buy you lunch.

Great stuff, Rocky...that car has more potential as a vehicle than just a thrill ride, and you've taken the extra steps in using it to get positive reinforcement across to the youth in your area. Do they ever need it here. Thanks for doing that. You just might light some kid's imagination up with that car and change their outlook on life with it. WC1

Thanks again everyone.
Wheelz, I am very careful on what I feed the bear, but I have bought him a meal or two.
Bandit, When you get back I'll be glad to buy you lunch also. In fact, when you get back we can have a team meeting in the shop with some pizza and refreshments of choice. :D  :D
