See, now aren't you glad I didn't come help with the body work? You wouldn't be this far along for another month fixing my mess ups...lol. Great Job!
My original plan was to bring it home, DA it, fix a few pin holes and prime it.

I now have about 40-hrs in getting it to this point. I just kept finding things that I couldn't overlook and had to take care of before I put it into the primer stage. I will switch to working on a few engine things while I give the primer time to cure and let the solvents escape from the body. :D

Put it in final primer today. It is now ready for the last sanding, seal it, and then paint! :D

Baked it this morning for an hour at 135-degrees. When it cooled off we moved it back into the sanding stall. I haven't decided on when I will actually spray it. Either this week at night, or just wait til Friday and work straight through until it is all done with graphics.

Well I got the main color on the car over the weekend. 8)

Then put 2-coats of clear on it. Monday I will sand it with some 1500 grit. Then lay out the graphics and spray those colors. When they are on, I will re-clear the whole car again. That way the stripes will be smooth without a raised edge.

Friday night it was like this:

I gave it one final sanding with some dry 320 paper. Then moved it into the paint booth after blowing all the sanding dust.

Here it is with the sealer on it:

This makes everything all one color for better coverage of the top coats. It also seals down any bodywork and previous primers.

Here are the tail-lamp panels and the roof hatch and hood burst panel.

Here it is with the base-coat on. 4-coats of this to achieve complete coverage. I spayed out a test panel which has different shaded blocks of color on it. You put on enough coats of paint to hide the various shaded blocks. That way you know you have complete coverage for the color you are spraying.

I painted this little body the same color as the car. This way I can take this thing to the powdercoater to see if they have a color that matches or if I have to just go with black for the tinwork.

Ok, now for the body with some clear on it.
