Shoot, Rapid, you have a ton of good ideas. But THAT one...that one would change the future of the sport and put AA/FA back on top in one felled swoop. It's one of those breakthrough concepts that makes everything that came before it obsolete. I don't think I'd be overstating it if I compared it to Swamp Rat 14, Dyno Don's Eliminator I, the Kareem Abdul Wing, and whoever decided to move the wheelbase forward on the Factory Experimentals back in '65...you have good ideas, all right, Rapid 1, but you are holding the proverbial key to the future with that one...my truthful opinion, which is apparently the general consensus...When Rapid told me in an email what he was thinking about creating this car (the '57), I "saw" it...I literally gasped in awe at the sheer genius of it. It made so much sense, and yet it was such a totally original concept. I jumped all over it, as you can see. It applies to virtually ALL car styles, and it just looks so damn cool it ain't even funny. I hope somehow Rapid's idea will some day soon see the light of day...Cheers, WC1

In 2004, I made a series of pictures of a Pro Mod team we were gonna start called Team Sting...Bee Gator and Wally Bell's 2-car assault on the AMS championship...I drew this in FreeHand10:
Image
An A/Fuel sponsorship graphic I did for some of Bob Kraemer's buddies last year. The original was drawn in FreeHand10 and colored in Photoshop:
Image
Purple66Bu's buddy Cy Kellogg, Photoshopped into a picture with his Dad:
Image
Max Naylor's Pro Stocker at Joliet, 2005. The paint job was a direct copy of what I made on my desktop in Photoshop. This was a KO Talent job:
Image
The Sportsbook.com Funny Car to be raced by Dean Skuza. The deal with this online casino and another one I did for them didn't work out because online casinos were declared illegal or something. Too bad, I hope Skuz can come back soon. Drawn in FreeHand10 for Knockout Talent:
Image
Another KO Talent sponsorship deal that didn't make it all the way...Fender/Hendrix, also FreeHand10, the original pen-and-ink was drawn by hand by my buddy Tommy in 1984:
Image
The S&S Buell with Hard Rock Cafe sponsorship graphics, drawn in FreeHand10. This deal was finalized but never happened (?):
Image
A Kicking8/PSB Suzuki KO Talent deal that didn't pan out, FreeHand10:
Image
Top Fuel Dragster, Top View, drawn in FreeHand10:
Image
The Shinedown/ Whit Bazemore Funny Car, a big deal worked up through KO Talent with Atlantic Records, they loved it but the deal didn't work out...drawn in FreeHand10, finished in Photoshop:
Image
There's a lot more, but I'm gonna call it a night...Cheers, WC1

I got contacted to design a chopper for Ted Nugent. This was what I sent, drawn in FreeHand10...not sure whatever happened to it after that...
Image
I did the top page banner for Mtnman's website a while back, drawn in FreeHand10...
Image
Here's something I threw together and sent to BP. Next thing I know, I got a coffee mug with this on it! T-shirt, too! Will miracles never cease?
Image
Here's the original Patty, posing with Barney. Purple66BU created a star that day! I removed the background and enhanced the color in Photoshop.
Image
The DragList Nationals' first flyer. This was 2005; it grew out of a fantasy match race proposed between Solid Rock and Nitro Madness. Thanks to Rapid, it actually came together with BP, ProZ, Mike, Norb, Lippy and a cast of thousands...drawn in FreeHand10...
Image
Robbie got an old Ranchero a while back and I made it into a Nitro Coupe for him...drawn in FreeHand10...the stages of completion on this one are pretty wild...one is stretched out like the Flying Dutchman...
Image
ThunderHorse, right after Robbie acquired it. His idea for a paint job...cool, man! FreeHand10 and Photoshop...
Image
Solid Rock's Mustang paint job concept...drawn in FreeHand10...he wanted to keep it simple. Hope to see this piece out there one of these days, Rock!
Image
A couple of seasons ago, I put Wally Bell (Gator) in a P/S Grand Am and turned him loose on the NHRA. As usual, it was a nightmare for the competition...drawn in FreeHand10...
Image
This started out as a picture of Solid Rock's Bantam altered and it turned into a Fiat AA/FA in 2005. Drawn in FreeHand10:
Image
I have more of this stuff for bands than I do for this, but this was for hot rods. I went totally surrealistic with my band flyers. I have a separate portfolio for them. Anyway, enjoy! WC1

Great stuff WC. That Draglist Nats. flyer reminds me, should we do an '07 flyer? If you do the layout WC, I could print some. I don't have the capability to do mass printing, but i could do a few to put up around the Eddyville area as long as that's O.K. with BP & the track. Maybe a few right at the track a few weeks in advance, and maybe parts stores, etc. in the area? Randy would problee' have a good idea where the best spots for flyers would be. Just a thought to raise spectator interest.

The posters would be OK with me. But I don't want to advertise more than we'll provide... don't want folks coming and paying to get in, only to find out they expected an AA/FA show or something... bp

Good point BP. We'll have to give it some thought.

BP makes a good point on that. That flyer from 2005 was "in-house" and if it did get printed up and circulated, it's like he said, folks would think they're in for a pretty big show, and this show will probably be lower-medium at its fullest...I can do up a flyer, it'll be more in line with the draglisters. True, we'll have a couple of fuel cars, maybe another radical hot rod or two, hopefully Norb'll be back for a cackle, we got a grudge race or two to settle, and that's about it. It's gonna be a party for sure, but I'll try to tone down the advert if we make one...thanks for offering to print it up...and thanks for the compliments on my artwork. I race vicariously through you guys. Cheers, WC1
