Jim,
I crewed for Vern Moats from 82 through 87. Still go over and check on him once in awhile. I worked 3/12 hour shifts back then so I could get away once in awhile, but when the plant was sold, it was back to 7 days a week a lot.

I see Ken Murry is crew chief on the car. What a nice guy. I was with Moats at the Popular Hot Rod Magazine meet in the early 80's when our generator quit working. We were servicing the engine and changing the center section, so Ken and his crew ran some wire over and rigged up some lights so we could finish. The next morning, I walk out the back of the trailer on to a rear door covered with dew. Fell right on my ass, spraining my ankle. Ken and another guy came over and picked me up and helped me get going again. And, the mosquitos were terrible and we blew an oil line off in the first round against Mandoline. That was the end of a not so hot weekend in the wonderful world of TA/FC drag racing.

I've been following this thread but haven't found an opportunity to reply; I believe once all the pieces get here, you and the guys will put it all in place and go right out there and be a threat, Jim. I look forward to the updates and I have no doubt you guys will be going rounds and making the competition miserable in '08...good luck to the Friesen team! Cheers, WC1
