What's on the Jukebox?

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

T-Birds cool. Great band. I saw them live several times; they played here all the time. Kim Wilson, Jimmie Vaughan, Fran Christina and Keith Ferguson (RIP)...Keith was an influence on my bass style...he played a right-handed bass strung properly and turned over upside-down, left-handed...and he was one of the best...by imitating his style of playing, his and Tommy Shannon's from Double Trouble, I got a lot of gigs playing bass. Keith died a few years back. He was a major Texas Super Blues guy. After he left the T-Birds (shortly before the "Tuff Enuff" album) he formed the Tail Gators and played the Blues Circuit in Texas for a couple of years. He lived in San Antone and he spoke Spanish as his primary language. He was a unique guy who had poor health all his life and he died young, but he left a very beautiful legacy of an individual who created his own world that he loved and he stuck to it. How 'bout their cover of Slim Harpo's "Scratch My Back" to finish out the set...Cheers, WC1
