5th Street Flyer for March. Lynn just called to rave. 5th Street gets packed every night now. They turned over their graphics to me for 2006 and it blew up, man. I'd sure like to be doing this for a living, but I'm too old for anybody to hire (Joe gave me 50 bucks the other night for these). Insurance risk? Anyway, here's 5th Street March. It's a movie poster for "La Dolce Vita", Fellini's most palatable film (my opinion). I'll show some more over time. While I was offline, I did more graphics than I can even keep up with. They're all over town. Cheers, WC1

Cat did you see the big story on Max Naylor in the National Dragster,,,no mention of your work, but talked about the disturbed car and his thoughts on Pro Stock.
Neat article I thought,
Rapid

I don't have a scrip to ND, Rapid...didn't see that article, but I'm glad he got covered. Max is a great guy and whoever takes credit for that paint job is fine with me. They're all good guys...I'm supposed to be getting in touch with KO Talent, but I haven't done that because I haven't had any time to do another project...they also were super to me for everything we did together. I've pretty much been concentrating on what goes on with the bands I'm working with and the college class and that's about it, except I'm going to help Billy put the Iron Pegasus story into a web-friendly format and submit it to BP for a 3 or 4-chapter Draglist feature...it's a great story and it won't take a whole lot to get it ready. Billy already wrote it and put it all together...back to Max, I saw the pictures of the car, and it's basically the design I made for them but they've moved stuff around on the label that covers the top...I was not authorized to do that...and instead of having my orange lettering on a black background on the side, they made an orange background that fades to black and put black lettering in...same principle but authorized changes, ya know. Cool with me. I was really pleased to see him qualify at Phoenix...shoot, just qualifying at an NHRA Pro Stock event is almost like winning...his program is coming along well and hopefully within a race or two he can go rounds. That's the name of that game, and a competitive combination will bring smiles to his sponsor's face and healthy respect from his peers. He's got a big budget now and a ton of exposure so the next step is to win. I wish him and his team and his sponsor the very best of times in the future. They deserve it!
Got the call last night that the Citykings are going into SugarHill Studios next Thursday night to record their part of the 60th anniversary SugarHill compilation CD. We're going to do a musical re-write of Roy Head's "Apple Of My Eye" which hit #36 nationally in 1966. My original arrangement could have been named "Apple Of My Third Eye", but Brother Bill brought it into a blues format without losing what I wrote. According to the guidelines that SugarHill gave us, the lyrics must remain as they were on the original song, but the music is our business to change and adapt to our band's style. We got a good one there, so I'll let y'all know about what happens. We also got booked to play a benefit for Cindy Peterson, a breast cancer survivor, at 5th Street April 30th. They gave us any time slot we wanted, so I picked 4PM...get home in time to catch the drags, hopefully...Cheers, WC1
