My second story is about Wildcats and my trip to Des Moines. We talked our faces off of course. We realized a surprising similarity in our upbringing. We also talked about some people having an inner compass in finding their way around.[pause]Well ours didn't work.We couldn't find the bus terminal.North,south...nothing worked. But I know it's over that way he'd say.But we couldn't go there because of road construction. We finally found it,and decided to get something to eat.We couldn't find any place around. Then we lost the bus terminal again,we were hopeless. When we finally found it again,Cat thought he better stay there. We talked awhile more then said goodbye.I was sooo nervous about getting lost again I went to the airport early and camped out there till plane time.Which is another story but my fingers are sore, and I'm laughing again and can't concentrate

NovelT...Boyd Wylie...looks nothing like I expected him to look...same thing with Barb, which is why I didn't know who she was until Cheryl told me. Boyd is a totally cool guy...snazzy dresser with a flair for the unique...and a very laid-back and articulate manner...an experienced and seasoned veteran drag racer, he brought a memory book that his wife made for him with pictures and poetry in it that she had written and it is a beautiful documentary of his life with cars...I saw him hanging out with a guy who had made a semi-altered roadster out of his street rod...kinda looked a little like "Heaven Sent", T's altered roadster from a while back...it was fun rooming with him! That's great that Susan is coming with you next year, man! Guess I'll have to find another roomie...maybe Miss Debby...Cheeers, WC1
PS: Yeah, Bandito...Billy's gonna be tired. Hope it went smooth. He's got a lot of catching up to do already!!!! Great pics of him playing his guitar. He got everybody to sign it with his silver marker pen!

Great posts, NovelT!!!!

Well WC, your story about piloting Norb's Nostalgia Rail to the winners circle for a cackle, reminded me, "I have a clip of that".  But, when I pulled up the footage, I was shocked. The video started out with Norb givin' the DragListerz' our very own cackle fest earlier in the day. Then it switched to us pullin' Driver WC and co-pilot Billy Mac to the winner circle. Nothin' odd about that. I'm sure this piece of drag racin' history has been pulled or pushed to the staging lanes more times I than I could imagine.

However, if you watch closely, as soon as this machine touches the asphalt, something magical begins to happen. I think Bill (Who was drivin' the tow vehicle) must have noticed somethin' happen just then, cuz' I heard him say opp, just as the magic began. Then as if the track knew this ol' ground pounder was makin' a return to the staging lanes, There were a couple flashes of light and then a fog began to roll in.

When we pulled through the stagin' lanes & turned to faced the tower, it was as if we slipped back in time. The closer we got to the startin' line the further back in time we went. Then my camera went black. The only thing that makes sense is my digital camera couldn't record that far back in time. Hopefully somebody got some 8mm footage of the cackle fest.

Give it a little time to load, as it took allot a memory to capture this phenomenon
