More old vinyl today. August 1970: Isle of Wight: Isle of Wight Festival / John Sebastian, Shawn Phillips, Lighthouse, Joni Mitchell, Tiny Tim, Miles Davis, Ten Years After, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, The Doors, The Who, Melanie, and Sly & the Family Stone.
Couple of songs on one side skip and hiss(Lighthouse, Joni MItchell) but the rest are still clear.

That was a really good show last night considering the CBC's current financial woes. Saw them a couple times live many many moons ago - once in Montreal in the early 80's when we were at the NHRA Grandnationals at Sanair and one time long before that in Winnipeg, Manitoba when they were just starting up...Bachman and Cummings tour on tv right now.This band was called "Guess Who" way back in Canadian history

Better Half found two milk crates full of vinyl yesterday in the attic. Lots of Jethro Tull, Led Zepplin, Who, ZZ Top, Joe Walsh, CCR, Beatles, Stones, Springsteen, Dire Straits, Black Sabbath, etc. It was 95% rock with some other misc stuff thrown in like Elvis, ABBA(gag, puke), fiddle music, and comedy albums(Newhart, Monty Python)
So now I have a problem. Since the newest one is late 70's it means they've been sitting for a loooong time. Does anyone know of a SAFE way to clean albums? They're pretty dusty so the first order of business I guess would be a blast from the shop air hose.

Sounds like a great find. I don't know the best way to do it. Guess it depends on how dusty they are. I googled 'safely clean dust from old vinyl albums' and got a lot of possible sites. I'd put the URL here, but then nobody'd be able to read this page without scrolling three screens to the right.
