I got cited for disturbing the police in 91...had to go to court, plead no contest, got fined a hundred bucks and put on 30 days probation. What did you guys do to get cited for? overcrowding Wheelz' garage? Firing up an unmuffled engine at 6 in the morning? Sorry 'bout that...

Vic I was thinking ever since I found out the history of your car for you to get in touch with Ken Veney...that light is definitely lit in his head...he'll be glad to hear from you again. Great going, calling him. Now he knows where that car is and who owns it...WC1 8)

Ken's a good guy. I've talked with him a lot over the years - first buying heads from him, then on the tractor pulling circuit (he runs a 3 engine mod tractor now). He'll definately spend time with you when he has the chance.

Well,....talked with ken for awhile today, getting as
much info on the vegas combo from back in 1971-72-73.
481ci and later a 496 BBC 13.1-13.5 compression injected
on a meer 35% of nitro but some times 70%
fed threw a pete jackson stack injection set up, with a
enderle 110 pump suppling the pop.
the vega coupled the motor to the olds/pontiac 4:88 geared
posi, via a single disc weber 11 inch clutch and the first ever lenco
produced 3 speed transmission.
8.17 in 1972 injected on nitro and 7.09 on nitro in 1973
Ken had told me that in january of 1972 attending the
Grand Premier nationals at Lions that he had qaulified with
a time that was faster than the current national record
for the A/FC.
So a little more history for yas to chew on,, it was fun to talk to Ken.

But the big day i have been waiting for comes today.
I am meeting the div 6 tech inspector, and he is going to
sonar check all the tubes on the vega and let me know if the
new Vics Vega will run on nitro,..or
if it will be just another bracket car. the couple of obvious
updates will be considered,..helmet bars and gusset tube
for the forward drivers hoop,..it is just the rest of it...
so tomorrow ,.......
