Hey Rapid, the paint came out great. Can't wait to see in person.
I have a question. What is the tree made of? Is it C/M tubing or solid rod? Diameter? Are the glassed in brackets/mounting pads aluminum or is that too brittle? C/M brackets? Inquiring minds want to know.

Let me just say, I'm blown away at the way the car looks. The pictures do not do this paint job justice at all. The "Little Ride Stealer" and I should have the tin, skirts and spoiler all mounted tomorrow. I brought the camera so, I'll take a bunch of pictures tomorrow. The Gold..I mean CF brakes, new hubs and all should get mounted tomorrow also.

It is C/M tubing. I will try to remember to measure it tomorrow. I would guess it is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The pads on the car are also c/moly. They are epoxied to the body, then fiberglassed over as well. Hope this helps.
Special Thanks to Greg, and the little ride stealer for helping me out today.
I worked on it until 11:15 pm before I gave up and headed home. We are having a good sized group come over tomorrow for Funnycar assy day.

OK, 2:20 AM. Love the internet. I posted in a couple of places about an hour ago that I needed a driveshaft. Already have one being shipped overnight to me on Monday from Rocky in NJ. I will have to cut it down to fit, but that is a lot better than the too short one I have now.

Thanks Rapid. Just starting to design the tree for the front end of the "Z". Are the support rods welded to the body pads or are there clevis & pin connections there? One thought was to weld a stub on the pad so I could weld the support tubes to the stub after it was glued on the front end (stub being sort of a heat sink to protect the glue). Or another thought was to screw the pads in place weld the tree then remove the screws, glue the whole assembly in, in one shot, then glass over the pads, fill the screw holes. Or, go with the clevis idea?
I guess I never paid much attention to that detail before.

A BIG THANK YOU to Greg and Jordan for driving up and helping work on the car this weekend. They were a bunch of help, we managed to have some fun, and they got the tin and body along ways towards being ready for next weekends Cordova race.
Sat Eric Bru, and Kelly Baker came over as well. Everybody pitched in, and we got alot done.
Thanks for the help guys,
Rapid
