I got home from work today and Debby walked up to me while I was getting online. I said "Babe, I have to ask you to do something for me." She said "Sure, what do you need?" I said "I need you to tell me what really happened out there. What happened to my Volkswagen, and who really hit it?" She said "I have no idea what you're talking about. I told you what happened." I said "Yes, you did, but you are fine, and you don't have a scratch on you. I just want to know the truth." She said "Come here." She took me in the downstairs bathroom, pulled up her shirt and showed me the bruises. Did I ever feel like a heel. I thought she was taking the rap to cover for the boys who might have done it rough-housing out there, but no. She hit the car. I apologized and I am now miserable with myself. She laughed it off, so the Cat didn't get put in the Dog House, thank goodness. Why can't I trust anybody?

WO)W, I just got caught up on Debbie's accident. Glad she's O.K., that could have been bad (or worse than it was).

Debby is fine, again, thank God. She's at the grocery store getting stuff for dinner tonight. She's having my parents over. Kyle went to pick them up, I have to play tonight so I'll only see them for an hour or so before I have to leave.

I called my cousin Bert yesterday evening about the dent and he said it should pop right back out since there are no creases in it. He said there's 2 ways to do it. One is roll up the window, remove the door panel and use my foot to push it back out...the other is to get a plunger, make the whole area wet, and pull it back out with the suction from it...I am leaning towards the former suggestion.

I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to Debby. This deal scared me, big-time. I appreciate her more than I knew I did...I took her for granted. Can't ever do that, because you never know what could happen and it can all change in a split-second. WC1

Hey did someone say they were bringing cake to this party??? 8)

WC, first off the bad news. Things that go in,,,don't just POP back out and say,,,sorry no harm no foul.

Now for the good news. With that large of an area, there is a good chance most of it will come out if you are careful.

Funny side note. Laura is here with a newly found cold. I just told her about George and Debbie's little deal. Laura said, "Me and George are both sick." LMAO,,,both sick,,maybe you had to be here to hear the plugged up stuffy voice.

Ok, back to George. If you can find a couple of those big suction cups like they move large glass panes of glass around with. I would try that 1st.

2nd choice, remove the inner door trim. Apply pressure with a big old towel wrapped around your hand as close to the center of the dent as possible. Not hitting it, just pressure. Use paint stir sticks taped together and something to pry against the door inner door structure as you push out real gentle. If you had a crow bar, or small pipe, wrap the end and use something like this to push around the edges.

I think you are catching the drift. Use something to protect the metal panel backside, as you slowly work out the dent. The problem is you will try to move the metal too fast, and it will create poke marks from the inside of the door showing pressure points.

If you go slow, you should be able to work it out for the most part. Probably the paint will crack, or be cracked along the sharp edges of the dent. Just use some touch-up paint to seal the cracks down so it can't get moisture behind the paint and start to rust.

Best of luck,,,Get George healed soon!!!

Call me if you need anything WC. 515-238-1897

Rapid and the sick with a cold feeling Laura. :D

Thanks for the great info, Rapid! Sorry to hear about Laura's cold, though. I think ProZ has the perfect remedy there. As for George, I will approach this fix with a newfound intelligence, borrowed of course, but at least I'll be careful...Cheers, WC1

Good call, I loaded her up with cough medicine and when she got sleepy I put her in bed. Didn't hear a peep all night from her. :D It was PEACEFUL at the Baker's last night.

Good Luck WC, call me if you need anything. Slow and steady will get the results you are hoping for I think. 8)
