Gonna spend the whole day in the garage so we gathered up the boom box and a bunch of old blues tapes to keep us amused. Just looking at the dates on some of that stuff makes me feel old. There were a LOT of good blues singers and guitar players in the South in the 1950's

Maritime, you have a great collection and great taste. Thanks for the statement about the South. Very true...there were and are a lot of great guitar players and blues players here. I have seen and heard some bad ones, too, but for the most part it's blues country down here. Cheers, WC1
PS: I saw where you posted "Johnny Winter And / Live"...he's from around these parts, and we all grew up with him here. Recently some friends of mine went to one of his shows in Beaumont and I heard when they got back that he's not doing too well these days. He's had a hard life...as an Albino, he has been legally blind all his life, but nowadays he requires assistance to get around. Edgar is playing better than ever. Cat

Michelle Phillips...was and is a babe...she played the New York Witch in the movie "The Doors"...her daughter from the dysfunctional and somewhat "open" relationship she had with Papa John, Chynna Phillips, was in the group Wilson/Phillips with Wendy and Carnie Wilson, Brian's daughters. Too bad about John Phillips. he was a good man and he wrote some great songs but he was one of the doomed flower children that never grew up...as if I have a leg to stand on here...Cass died in London in 1974; choked on a chicken sandwich...she had the best voice of any of 'em, I thought...Denny Doherty is still around...anyway, great song, Doc.
