(LOL) it seems that Tim and I have a different idea of what "shake-down" runs are....."My" plan, was to make a half track squirt....get accustomed to things, make sure things are working proper, etc....then....a moderate pass...then go out the back door with it......."Tim's idea is.....hammer the damn thing....if it's going straight, go out the back door....come back...check things over, then go out and turn the throttle in a bottle on and go for it......Ummmm.....we "may" have to discuss this deal a bit

after a very LOOONGGGGG Thursday (and Thursday night) of scuffin and scrapin on my fibberglas front end, tryin to make IT smooth but in the process putting more and more callusses on my already dry, cracked hands.....Peggy got squirted with "almost" equal amounts of Blue and Silver (with a black, ripped and torn separation stripe) paint on Friday (we walked out of the shop @ 3.15 a.m. Saturday morning, directly after the second coat of clear)......
Saturday morning....we moved everything out of the paint booth to soak up some sunshine and I unloaded the chassis out of the trailer to start cleaning everything up....vacuuming and wiping the floors and bars for any stray dust and debris.
Late Saturday evening, I loaded the chassis back into the trailer, pulled it around to the back side of the shop, Unloaded the chassis again...and we placed the body back where it belongs...then we rolled it back in the box, closed the door and pulled it back around front to be unloaded one more time for me to secure the body to the chassis........Having installed all the nuts and bolts in the proper locations, I proceeded to install the parachute and locked down my jumper lugs and batteries....I again didn't walk out of the shop until after 3 a.m.
Sunday morning (about 9.30) I started measuring, cutting and fitting my tubs, then installed the quarter windows....except for the back glass and trim pieces and the tail light lenses (a friend said he knows where another Mustang is in a junk yard with better lenses than mine and he is going to try to get them for me)....the back section of the car is COMPLETE!!
This Friday, I hope to get over to Tim's early in the afternoon, so I can start making and installing the door panels, the door handles and the window frames for my lexan, then I will move on to installing the front windshield......as for the motor....there are two holes that need to be drilled in my valve covers (one each) for my vacuum pump....one is for the -12 hose fitting to the pump and the other is for the gauge (that is already mounted in my dash, next to my oil pressure guage)
I guess there is an outside "possibility" of going to the track this coming Sunday...however, I will Probably be too worn out to make it this weekend.....but you can bet yer sweet bippy (come to think of it, have any of you ever heard of a Sour Bippy?? rolleyes ) that I WILL be going to a race track near Me the Following weekend!!!!!......I have three choices within an hour to an hour and a half to choose from....2- 1/8th mile and one 1/4 mile...........Stay tuned!! Drinking
Thank You Vets!!!
