Way to go, Emily! From what you've said about her, she knows good music and she's a player, too...GREAT! Hope she wins the award!
"Wooden Ships" is no doubt one of the greatest songs ever. Woodstock was a special moment in time. No Pop Festival has ever topped it...I think what the promoters could have understood was that you can't repeat something like that and expect it to be as good or better...I heard not so good stories to downright nightmares about the festivals that got put on after that...Atlanta, Miami, Festival of Life, Watkins Glen, Altamont...the festivals of the 80s and 90s were different than the ones from the late 60s and early 70s...corporate backing...I thought Live Aid was great...Anyway, how 'bout some Allman Brothers? I'd like to hear 'em Live at the Fillmore East. That was (and still is) a cool band...WC1

We're on a BB King kick today too / Back in the alley album. It's another "vinyl" day around here. Funny thing how the record player sat in the closet for 20 years untouched and now I use it more than either the CD or Cassette players lately.

I have tons of formats from MP3, to CDs, to vinyl, to HiFI video (remember that for a few years in the 80s... HiFi video recorders were gonna take the place of reel to reeel), cassettes, eight tracks, and even 78s! I wonder how long it would take to play back to back every piece of music I have. Months for sure and maybe years. bp

More vinyl today - Johnny Cash / Live at Folsom Prison. I'm not much of a Country Music fan anymore - I stopped buying the stuff in the mid 1960's when I first discovered Rock and Roll. This album has sat around for almost 40 years and still sounds OK. After watching that "Walk the line" movie I got a whole new respect for the Man in Black.
