Kyu was a much-needed voice of worldwide good will during the height of the cold war and an ambassador of modern Japanese culture to the West. My sister could sing that song note-for-note and word-for-word. That was more than a great song, it was an anthem of the times. He was great. That song opened a lot of doors. Good call, Mike!
