The shakedown didn't exactly go as planned but it was still a good day. We got to the track early (for a change) and did a final once over of the car. I had to replace the belts and set the throttle linkage and a few another odds and ends. This was an 1/8 mile track so things move pretty quick, especially with a small field. When they called me I took my time gettting up to the staging area and only then realized there were only 9 cars in T@T. I hurried and got buckled in while the guy was waving me into the burn out box. I took a lesson from my mentor Rocky and took my time so I was safe and comfortable in the car. The burn out went fine but when I shifted into 2nd I had to bump the shifter twice so I knew I had an issue with the shifter. I made an easy pass of 6.54 (10.20 1/4 mile time) and decided to end the day with just one pass, I didn't want to miss a shift and take the chance of hurting something.

A little info on this track.
It has a tight turn to the left at the end of a short shut off with water barrels lining the turn. While we were loading up we heard a guy say there was a car stuck in the middle of the turn. He was stuck alright , his brakes failed and he hit the barrels and went into the trees and actually climbed one!!!!!!!!! He wasn't hurt but they had to cut some trees down to get him out.

So the car is back in the trailer intact, nothing broken and I'll have it fixed in no time.
See you at the races

Great report, good run, you knew something wasn't quite right and you didn't leg it out anyway...all good, Pappy. Good luck with the sponsorship connect! You know where you can get help if you need it! Cheers, WC1

I ran the car at Geezers at the Grove over the weekend. It didn't exactly go as planned but I still had a good time. When I got to the track on Friday I had a lot of maintenance to do, adjust transmission linkage, set valves, put a ground strap on the fuel cell, and set up my pit. (I was alone all weekend) I finally made it to the lanes for my first time shot, pulled through the water box and started my burnout, shifted into 2nd and the car died :cussing: They so kindly pushed me out of the way and gave me a ride back to my pit on the end of the hook. I'll be the first to admit electrical stuff baffles the :cussing: out of me. Two guy's pitted next to me came over and tried to help, I already checked the obvious stuff like loose wires, blown fuses. No good. After they left I was milling it around and the only place I didn't check was my switch panel, I open it up and sure enough a screw backed out and there were two wires just hanging there doing nothing, problem fixed. :hyper: The second time shot went better I had an.013 light and ran a 10.18 @ 131 and change. When I got back to my pit I pulled the hood off to let it cool and check things over. The intake was filled with oil, seems the idiot that put the motor in forgot to tighten the oil pressure line. You wouldn't believe the talk I had with HIM!!!!!!!
Yesterday morning I got every thing cleaned up as best I could, 3 cans of carb cleaner and a roll of paper towels. I made a time shot and ran a 10.20 @131 and I don't want to talk about my light  . When I picked my time slip up the guy told me "THEY" want to see you at tech. It seems I still had some residual oil seeping out of the nooks and crannys so they shut me down and my day was done.
All in all I had a good time, got to see some old friends, made some new ones. All the parts are where they belong and I'll try to get em next weekend at the York show at Beaver Springs
