Went to the annual Louisbourg Crab Festival today. The place was packed with thousands of people(about 50% tourists) Food was totally awesome - the band was even better. It was a bunch of locals(a rockabilly band called "Tribute") that did songs by Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakum, Doobie Bros, Alabama, and Steve Earle. They had the place rocking, the beer tent was full of people and it was only just a little after noon.

Sounds like a great place to be. Wow. bp

Have my stack of Joe satriani Cd's in the player , nothing like a little guitar to soothe the senses . Just don't have him sing ... I like mostly instrumental music from classical to rock , big band is great as I listened to it when I lived at my grandparents at first I thought it was so so , but after awhile you appreciate it, one of the things I thought was weird is my grandmother was the same way as she would listen to all sorts , one day she was listening to the B-52's ( actually had one of there albums ) .

: i have the shop boombox tuned to the local hot country station.... man this stuff for the most part is junk !! I hardly ever listen to FM RADIO and this just backs it up !! over at least 2 hours i haven't heard anything that perks my ears up

Satch cool. He's got the flying fingers of death. I have "Surfing With The Alien" on vinyl. Him, Vernon Reid, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen (he was in a band with other guys but he counts), Eric Johnson, Chris Duarte, Yngwie, etc...he is a bigger influence than he is a "star" but dude can flat-out rip...I also don't get much of a "kick" of out modern country. It's kinda like rock 'n roll with a twang or something? I really like classic country, going all the way back from around the mid-seventies to the beginning. Hank Williams...Buck Owens...Porter Waggoner...Roy Clark...I liked Glenn Campbell...Merle, Willie, Waylon, Kris, mid-era guys OK with me. Like pop music, the new country just don't sound right to me anymore. Formula. Cheers, WC1

Amen to that !!! that crap they call country nowdays is nothing but old pop songs with a steel guitar . like Wc said give me the old guys you know the ones if you played the album backwords you buddy fixes your truck he wrecked ,the dog comes home, so does the old lady and you get your job back too.
