Sure thing Doc,

Here is a post from Danny in response to why the new chassis. As a side note, S&R Chassis, is Steve Plueger's shop in Calif. 8)

I had a couple of issues with the old chassis.

1) it wanted to carry the front tires too far and we had 150 lbs of weight on the front, so I moved the engine forward to correct that.

2) Randy needed more room to be comfortable. You needed to be 5' 6" or less to fit comfortably.

3) The rear upright was .083 but it sonic checked less (probably from internal rust over the years) and the 6 second chassis cert calls for .083.

4) I could build a new chassis and fix all of the above and change to "A" arms and remove the weight at the front which would get me down to the 2250 lbs (a savings of about 150 lbs) and Randy will save me another 25 with his new workout program. Now we can add weight where we need it and still be at the minimum of 2250 with driver.

The old chassis is very serviceable and could be a 6.0 chassis with a little work but I feel it is a good chassis for someone who is restoring a S&R (Steve and Richard) car from back then. Maybe a LA Hooker, John Lumbardo (SP), or who ever car. It is still close to original, just needs a few things removed. Or the car "as is" would tag 7.0 if that is what was wanted. It is still legal this year as a 6.0 car.
