hi perry & all gasser fans
i have been watching your progress with the little anglia prefect since i
sold it to your family. i would have never thought you would be able to get that big hemi in the chassis i built for a small block chevy but the end result is great. i notice you removed the front spoiler on the 1 piece nose
i would guess it was because of the wheelstands ? i dont know if your dad
mentioned this but the very first drag strip i ever went down was thompson drag raceway in 1963 and to see the photos of your car there
was a thrill. i also have some relitives in ravenia and streetsboro ohio
i presently are building a 65 cuda super stock clone of the golden comandos drag car (gold fish) with a straight axle a big block mopar at 452 cu in, max wedge cam & crossram intake 727 torqueflie trans 8-3/4 narrowed axle with big ford ends 410 gears.
it will be gold color with black racing stripes.
oh ! by the way what times are you running now? i hope to hear back
from you . i wold like to hear all the things you did to the car to put that
big hemi in it.
thanks
keith schultz :)

Welcome, Keith! I lived in Portage County from about 1970 to 1976 and my family stayed their for years (Garrettsville, Ravenna, Windham, etc.) My brother Fred still lives in Windham. Anyway, great to have you up here. Welcome to the board. bp

Keith! It's good to hear from you guy!

The front spoiler met an untimely demise one afternoon at Thompson. It got a bit more crooked that I was comfortable with and I let it down a bit harder than I should have. That sticky rubber on the track just grabbed onto it and wouldn't let go! It's still hangin' on the back wall of the shop. Now that I've calmed it down I might put it back on there.

The hemi fit right in there - it's just a little motor - the heads just make it look big ;)

Times? I ran an 8.64 a couple weeks ago at Thompson. Best time to date was an 8.63 at Norwalk last summer.

I've done quite a bit to the little guy since you've seen it. It would be good to talk to you sometime.

Looking forward to hearing about the 65. If you're ever in the area visiting relatives be sure to find me! BP managed to find the place - he only had to avoid a few wild animals on the way back to the shop ;)

Took the family down to the HRR in Columbus on Sat. It was a great time - a little hot - but a good time. Visited with the gasser group, watched some qualifying, dealt with tired, hot kids, you know - normal stuff.

The track wasn't the best - but the fuel cars and funnies were making some pretty good runs. I believe top funny time was 6.28 and the top rail time was 5.78 - but don't quote me on those.

Steve Lanius from Missile took a look at my blocks and said that he shouldn't have a problem repairing the best one. He took the one that I hurt last fall in as trade - he wanted a setup block. So that part is off to be repaired.

Talked to several of the guys running Donovans to see what they're doing for oiling systems. The biggest difference is that they are running Titan pumps which give them a lot more volume than what I've got with my hi-po 340 pump. For the cost of a Titan pump I can darn near get a dry sump, so I'm still leaning in that direction.
