Could be a real "blessing in disguise"
Pros should hang with Pros.....(in my opinion)
If the "pain" is worth the "gain"?.....well , that's your call.

Thanks, y'all...good advice and words. Life balances out. I'll keep on with the Whiskey Saints and the Citykings and work with just plain good folks . No problem, and no hard feelings from me about any of it. I got an email from College of the Mainland today: They want me to teach a course called "All About Drag Racing"...!!!!!!!!!! Life is good! I'll give a history, a technical analysis, a brief overview, etc., talk about the sanctioning bodies and how to get signed up, maybe take a field trip...I gotta get ahold of Outlaw Nick if he's in town and get him over there to give a talk, too...I can't WAIT to do that one! Shoot, I have the Drag Racing BIBLE right here...Cheers, WC1

WC,
I don't get in here all the time to check on you. But, hell! When did it become your fricking job to get the lazy assed drummer and his junk to the gigs???? Once in a while to help a buddy sure, but not all the time and sure as hell not enough to get yelled at over it!
You are way to good a player and fantastic team player to put up with this load of crap! I agree with all of the above, let them fig out and come crawling back needing you, then set some ground rules. If you never hear from them again, they were not smart enough to be worth your time anyway my friend!!!
Good luck and move forward and upward!!
Rapid
Sorry WC, as you might have noticed,,,,good people being taken advantage of really ticks me off,,,,especially when it is a good friend of mine being used up!

Thanks, y'all...good advice and words. Life balances out. I think there could be some motivation for what happened behind the scenes, but I've been through worse than this by far and did OK. I'll keep on with the Whiskey Saints and the Citykings and work with just plain good folks without the rock-star trips going on. No problem, and no hard feelings from me about any of it. I got an email from College of the Mainland today: They want me to teach a course called "All About Drag Racing"...!!!!!!!!!! Life is good! Is that right up your alley CAT (sic) or what? The guru of drag racing.

Thanks, guys. I'm gonna need a coupla good engine dudes in a coupla those classes. I can tell the class what's on the surface and how an engine works (I'll bet a lot of people who take that class don't really know how an engine works), but I couldn't explain how a certain kind of cam is gonna change stuff, etc..I'll bring in an engine guy to talk about the high-end stuff...I'll see if I can get Nitro Madness to come down and do a parking-lot burnout or something...I have a lot of books about drag racing and I have an unwavering devotion to the sport. It'll be FUN is the bottom-line, not a tedious exercize in frustration and futility, dealing with a bunch of guitars, rusty strings and whining kids...shoot, it'd be great to get all of you in there...Barb, Leon, Lippy, Rapid, Tommy Howell, Wheelz, Rock, BP, Wally, the good Doctor, MIKE CASELLA, Slick Vic, Billy, Robbie, Flyin' Hillbilly, Pro70Z, purple66bu, Bob Kraemer, Buffjshn, Maritime, ANIMAL JIM, Blown Goat, CH3NO2, Norb Locke (bring Grandpa's Toy in for a cackle), Senor Bandito, Jerry G, The Lion, NovelT, Mtnman, Eric, Donnie, racersforcoffee, Stimpy, Zappy, heck, I hear Whit Bazemore will be available...I could go on all night, but you get the picture...
I have a couple of pieces of equipment (a monitor, a mic cord) and Willie's drums that I'm going to get over to Shakedown this week and that'll be the last of it. I have one more gig to do in the Bay Area, with the Whiskey Saints at the Cock-Eyed Seagull on October 28th. That will be my last appearance in that part of town. I live almost 50 miles away from there. In the future, if I do play out there, it will be a big deal, once a year or something...not 2 or 3 times a week. It was all worth it...that's how it goes. Cheers, WC1

The Citykings are playing the grand opening of the Edloe Street Deli on October 28th. Ironically, the same day I'm playing at the Cock-Eyed Seagull with the Whiskey Saints. No problem. I got a call from Willie yesterday. Lynn fired him, too. I haven't talked to Mikey but I have a feeling he's not in Shakedown anymore. Strange, at this point I feel like I was used; my friendship was disposable. The only reason I played with Lynn and Brandi for so long was because I loved them. Lynn just dropped me like an empty tin 1 and that's the last I'll hear from him. I'm happy to be with the Citykings and the Whiskey Saints and I'm not interested in driving out to the Bay Area to play gigs. I could rave on all night, but you get the picture. Here's the flyer for Eldoe Street. Cheers, WC1
