Well shes not ready for the track due to the lack of parts that still have not arrived as scheduled. I am getting ready to go racing for 6 weeks, and that will not allow me to complete the vega until the weekend after august 18th,..going racing back to back to back for starters,.
Woodburd D-6 race, then the Seattle Nationals, then Sonoma Nats, 4 days off then driving the Thompson alcohol transporter to Brainerd Minnasota for the Lucas oil Nationals, then the very next weekend and a almost 2 day drive to Acton Montana for the D-6 race there,..fewww
then its 3 weeks off to finish the vega.
So in the mean time the tranny is in, the belts, 2 fuel lines left to plumb, mount shifter, tranny lines, new belts are in, the motor is bolted together for the last time to start, still working out the plans on the doghouse/firewall/dash,...I pulled the rear end out and found it had a 10 spline spool and axles by Henry,..I have ordered a new spool and axles but wont get to it untill I return in August,..
I have spent a little time making the apperance of the vega look like it was back in the day,..and in doing that I took paint stripper to all the parts that were painted black including all the front suspension parts, forward bulkhead and fire wall,. what were they thinking ???? I have revealed the natural beauty of Veneys Vega with a little elbow and alot of mothers. very nice touch
.The Vega has Bling,......nice and shiny stuff still there that lives.
heres a few pics, and I will be back.
