I believe what amazes me about these engines, the early hemi's anyway, Is that the block is a 1956, the heads are 1955's and the crank is a 1956 also. We are going to run them on nitro after all these years. If you check other nitro engines, they are new aluminum reproductions, Chevrolet, you don't see any injected nitro 283's or 327's anymore. Talk about outliving the intended purpose!! If we had the money a K.B or Donovan would be our choice, but for now, the ancient dinosaur will have to do. After all,...Larry, Leon and I are dinosaurs also I guess. We should get along with this engine fine.

Lippy - you've been awfully quiet lately...

When are you gonna put oil in that pan I sent you and make some noise?

The pre 426 Hemis absolutely defy reason.
Run them in the ol' mans DeSoto or Chrysler for a bazillion miles then 10 years later have Junior try to blow it up impressing his high school buddies with 100ft burnouts and all the abuse he can dish out thru the old Punch-a-matic and finally 40-50 years later have them end up with some nut whos feedin' them rocket fuel with OEM cranks and heads. 8) 8)
A "real" hemi will always have a crowd of admirers around.

Good luck

Ron

Ok, Larry, Leon and I have been real busy lately. The rods and pistons will be here next week. So Leon is gonna be busy putting the engine together, shouldn't take long. We are planning on going to Tulsa at the end of june to run it. As you all know, it takes so much time to get all the stuff together, not to mention money!! But we are close, real close. Dave Koehler has the fuel system, the machinest still has the block. But Leon has a habit of thrashing on stuff and he always makes the deadline. Perry, the pan came out excellent, this thing should be a real hoot!! New firesuit on the way, and helmet, funnycar going to chassis shop saturday morning. 433 BBC inj on THE CAN. Hehehe. But the dragster is coming along. I just didn't want to report till we had it further along. I will post pics and a start up vid soon! Thanks guys. :D
