I just got an awesome package from Wheelz...3 Life Magazines, looking like they're fresh off the rack, from 1969, and they all have Bug ads in 'em...for the '70 Beetle, like George is! THANKS, WHEELZ! This is very cool stuff! I tellya, not just the VW ads, but the whole magazine...the stories, the ads, the styles, the people, everything...it sure did take me back...Life is good! Debby and I will be going on a cruise Sunday morning with the Phantoms. We'll meet in Alvin for breakfast and go from there to Fayetteville in East Texas, then back home. Should be fun...we haven't cruised with the Phantoms yet but they are great folks with awesome cars...I'll bring the camera and post some pics Sunday night. Today I went outside and cleaned George up and put a cover over him that I got at Wal-Mart a while back. It works. George cleans up good, ya know. When he's clean, he really is a good-looking Bug. I warmed him up and he's good to go. Also, I happened to run into the guy I bought him from in October 2007, Ken. I told him about the trip to Eddyville and the many adventures that George and I have had. He was blown away that I drove George there and back...I also asked him if he had a name for George before I named him George. He said she was called Lady Blue...
Cheers, WC1
