Hi Guys, I guess I'm the newbie here. I'm Chuck Clark. I own a company known as Bolt Locker. I also have 30 weight going on 50 weight (according to my Doc, pressure going up hahah) in my veins. I have been around cars and racing most of my life. My current car and the second love of my life is a 65 Chevy Belair wagon named Lucielle. She is 90% street driven, and has been known to just dip into the 12's at the track. Now Mind you she is all steel and weighs 4245, plus my considerable weight.
It is my intention to convert her to running E-85 and/or straight methanol this spring. I will be changing the heads, pistons rods and maybe even adding a stroker Crank so I can take advantage of the Methanol. It took me a while, but I finally figured out that if we are paying $3.10 a gallon for gas, that makes this car sound like its playing "Jingle Bells" (into town we go, PINGING all the way...) And I can have pure Methanol delivered in 55 gallon drums to my house for $1.22 per gallon, I come out ahead even if I have to burn twice as much. But in checking out some figures with the new parts designed to take advantage of running E-85 or Methanol, I will gain 40% in Horse power and a whopping 65% increase in torque. It is well worth it. And I'll end up with a car that I can drive and race well into the future.
Well Guys Have a great 2008 I will be reading and definitely asking your guys for advice along the way.

Welcome Chuck, that is a neat wagon. On the computer it looks to be the same color as my first car. I bought it when I was 12 with money I had saved up. It was a 1965 Chevy 2dr SS. Almost as big as yours!! :D

I haven't seen too many 65 wagons. Thanks for joining in. 8)
