And to think this car was a beutiful blue Vega 2 months ago,..
...Bwwaaaahhhhhhhh
A little update for yas,..not as bad as it looks....

Well its been a slow process,..weather permitiing Getting sick,..
but Ive been having at it trying
to get my vega ready to paint, ass end of car is ready, drivers side still working it to get
into primer, the front still has a bit to go,..and the roof,..well same deal as Kevins car, new roof hatch
Lots of cool findings along the way as far as original paint, bodyseams that were filled with putty to make it
all smooth, like the headlight rings, they are now like they should be exposed and not covered in bondo.
The grill and lower valance I am still working on, again they filled all the original seems and contours to make
the car smooth looking, and no not Ken Veney, all this filling was done by someone in the late 70`s mid 80`s
I am just bringing it back to how it was when Veney had it,..so anyways here are some pics to along with this modified resto
of Veneys Vega.
All of this has been done by hand without the use of electricity or air,
let alone any kind of cool tools,..lmfao.

Whoa I was almost at the bottom of the page,...

Guess ive been doing it to it,.. :P ,...so here is some update and
progress on the Veneys Vega with pics of course,...

Have I mentioned I could just kick someones asses for what they did
to this Vega body,.. ,..this goes back to who ever put the vinyl wrap
on this car,..they sanded so much on the gel coat and moulding trim,
and filled every seam and contour to get this body as smooth as possible
to put the vinyl on it,...........If I only new this before a took 9 layers of paint off it, I would have just Painted over the blue to make the paint layer total of #10...Bwwaaaahhhhhhhhh

so anyways it was a mess and a little ugly,..I am not trying to make this car perfect as far as the straightness of the body, but I have worked a miricle with what I have done,..it was wavyier than sh*t, and I mearly blended the waves to make it more suttle to the eyes and feel,..come on this car is 38 years old,..it shouldnt look perfect,..ok blah blah blah how bout some pics,...... 8)

here is the mess I had to make out of the hood to get it decent enough
to look staright and almost flat

Image

and in first primer
Image

I made good progess on both sides of the car and are done ,..

Image

Image

Today I moved on to the back window, and removed it to get at the sill and remove all the blue under the lexan

Image

Again just like the front windshield and all of the rest of the car they filled all the window trim and applied putty/bondo to smooth it all out, so as
I began to remove and scrape away paint with my trusty razor blade for about the 40 hr on the whole project,..the paint just came right off and lo and behold its the original painted chrome window trim from the Veneys Vega,...and it even still shined...

I will get this sanded out and around the original trim, and then I will take on the biggest task of them all ,.. :x ..the roof,..YIKES.....

so the plan is to get the roof and roof hatch fixed, and do the final Glass work where the blower cut out is and get it all into first primer, and then scuff the whole car and bury it in high build primer, guide coat it,..block it again,..then seal it and be ready for some red Paint....

Tick Toc Tick Toc Tick Toc,..I will get this to the track soooooon.

More news at eleven.
