I do love that look... and while I respect and understand recreating the Veney machine, I really loved the Vic's Vega... to me, it was exactly what a nostalgia funny car SHOULD look like. bp

Yea I am still baffled too WildCat....

What a strange trip its been,...hehehehehe

So over the last couple of days got the whole front fixed and into
primer,...Car now has headlight rings, and the lip for around the grille.

Image

moved on back to finish around the rear window and deck lid,..what a nightmare,..they sanded so much on the deck lid it is real soft and extremly wavy,..so I just blended from the tops of the rear qauerters to the first flatness I could find.

Image

along with the blending I made my way up to and across the back window that was in dire needs,...the brown in the window sill is the original putty
from 1972,.and thank god it was there and I was able to make the lip for the chrome molding..

Image

I will get all this into primer tomorrow and then move onto my final task
of body work,..the dreaded roof hatch, which was basically some metal with rivots, and bondo that covered it all up,...

Image

I cleaned up my garage, and got the chassis up on Jack stands, and began tearing it apart,..I will get it to a point to roll the chassis out and get the motor out, and then back in to remove the rear end,.and all the front suspension, then start sanding on it to paint it Black.

more to come,.... 8) 8)

If feel itchy and my fingers hurt and I'm not working on that body.
Your passion over that car shows by you taking the time to restore even the lesser seen details on that body!

Keep on Keep'm Vic!
