Old/New Guy on Site

Been reading this site for a while now, looks great. I started racing/cars in 1959 at little airport track up in Sanford, Maine. The following year got involved with the New England Hot Rod Council as a member of the Piece Pipes Hot Rod Club. The clubs ran the strip, just a great time. If you were there, you'll remember all the top names making it to Sanford, SWC, Tucker, Afrons, Big, the list went on and on. Also put in time at Lebanon Valley, Norwood, Connecticut Dragway, and others. Later on in years, turned to oval racing, Supermodifieds, Pro Stocks, etc. Wrote a column in Speedway Scene for 21 years, did some PR/Photography, ended up as General Manager of Lee USA Speedway in NH. Got sick of the whole NASCAR deal, left oval, back to going straight. Joined the Orientals Hot Rod Club, did a stint as it's president. Got involved with IHRA as a Tech Inspector doing National Events and also doing the same at New England Dragway. Which by the way, I consider one of the best tracks in the country. Their prep is fantastic, lots of shutdown, a great bunch of people under Joe Lombardo. Left New England three years ago and moved to York, SC for retirement. Did another year with IHRA until their joke of so-called racing took over. Another side of me is a Goodguys Rodder Rep for South Carolina, am a NRA Pistol Instructor and a Concealed Weapons Permit instructor for the state. Oh, and by the way, loving retirement. That's it, there's more, but who cares. Just a little background in racing. Looking to have a great time here.
