Ok so I walked away from the body to take a break from it, and now
went to work on getting the tranny, motor, wires, rear end out, basically
strip it all down to the chassis, so heres a litle photo session,..#1,248
lol,.....

Got the tranny out, and all of the top end of the motor off, and rolled the
chassis out of the shop to get the motor out,...

Got the motor out,....

Then removed the last components,..rear end front end,..and motor plate..

My shop just got smaller,..thank god no rain anytime soon,...lol
Its all in there some where,...

So now the task of removing all the paint,..Came off real easy with about
5 rattle cans of paint stripper,.....

this was a one day deal, removing engine rearend front and then
stripping the paint,...tomorrow I will get the rest of any blue off, go back over it all with a piece of scotchbrite with brakeclean,..and then primer it with a etching primer and paint it all up Gloss Black, let cure and in the mean time polish all the aluminium parts, and put the chassis back together by friday,.....Still looking for a piece of aluminum I mean fiberglass roof hatch that wil work and I can finish the roof and paint the damn thing already,....Bwaaaaahhhhhhaaaaa

Stay tuned for more,....Addiction of a Funny Guy,...

You're doing a GREAT job Vic. One question though, wouldn't now be a good time to have the frame magged to check for any stress cracks?

Pappy,..that is a good suggestion if this car actually had been a
racecar for the last 37 years,..but to my luck this car ran the 1972
season, and that was it for any full compitition,..
yea Jack Cambra put a Alky hemi in it and ran a 6.87@208 or something like that, but could not keep the front wheels on the ground and they parked it.
Cambras only made like 5-6 passes with this vega.
The only other time the car saw another motor was around 1990`s when Tyler Taba had it, and that was with a basic stock carberated Big Block.

So it was/ is safe to say,..Very Low Miles,..but yes I have gone around
the chassis and checked for cracks,..this car was built OverKill in 72.

Its all good,...thanks

That's great Vic. I didn't mean to assume anything, I would just rather see you safe then sorry.
I too wish we lived closer if for nothing else but to see the project in person.

Thanks guys,......

Oh most there
Well 1 day later, and 1 more to go and I will begin to put it all
back together with some shiny shiny parts,..so I used an expoxy
etching primer with sealer,.and a semi gloss black for the finish.

I should mention the chassis was upside down for the primer, then I rotated it upright to finish and then paint on the jack stands lying on my back..dooooohhhhhh

Now to just get all back together without scratching it,...LMAO
no actually the paint is pretty strong already hit it a couple of times
with the paint can and didn`t even scratch....cool cool

ok picture time,..hehehehehehe
