Ok - my little blog was disappearing off the bottom of the page so I figured I ought to say something here

After all of my crazy musings and wanderings I think I've come to my senses (ya'll can stop laughing now...)

We've decided to stick with the Chrysler motor. This time we'll get a block that wasn't run by a half dozen fuel cars in the late 60's and welded back together 10 times by everyone including Whistler's mother.

I've found a couple candidates, now I just need to find the means to purchase one of them.

nah - I don't think this disease needs "refreshed" - once you've got it, it just never goes away....

ah fall in Ohio.. The leaves are at the height of color, the weathers cooler, the tracks are closing down... It's time to figure out what you're going to do over the winter.

We decided to take on a new 'project' and do a motorhome restoration. Our old girl has decent running gear, but the roof is leaking and there's a bunch of little things wrong. We decided it might be better to restore it and then we'd know what we've got rather than spending bunches of dollars on something and then discovering what you've bought somewhere in the middle of Kentucky. I think I can get the behemouth in the shop, then I'll open her up like a sardine can and see how much mess I can make.

Oh... I suppose I ought to put the car back together too...

ok - time for an update...

After more thorough inspection - the motorhome restoration idea was nixed. The water damage is pretty extensive and I don't really want to tear it apart to find that I have to rebuild half of the box. Plus it's getting old enough we decided it was probably best to spend money on something more up to date than to dump it into something out of date. At this point, unless a good deal falls in our lap, we're figuring on just running local this year and towing with the pickup.

Call me insane (Ok - I drive a hemi powered Prefect - I guess that's already been done...). I've ordered a new block for Donovan.
Everything out there that's used is pretty much used up - or else they're still running it and it's not for sale. I found several used options, but they were going to need repaired and by the time you go through all of that the cost starts adding up to nearly what a new one is. Plus it's so nice to put together a new block - everything fits like it's supposed to. Plus Donovan has redone the bottom end and they have modular girdles now!

Anyway - I should have a block to put my stuff in by the end of the month.
