Gotta' work at the local cruise night this weekened. Next time out will be the World Series.

BREMERTON RACEWAY is running their annual 2-day shebang in this, the most intense nostalgia weekend in Puget Sound history! Scheduled to appear to sign autographs: Jerry Ruth, Rob Bruins, Dick Kalivoda, Red Gobel, Harold Gunderson, etc. etc. ...a who's who of Puyallup stars to begin with...Blown Gassers! Match racing, sketti feed and THEE CACKLEFEST Sat. night at 8 PM with Jim Green and the Beautiful Assassin Ford Cammer, just for starters. GO FEVER!

Ok, Pro Z, I here Cordova put together another great show for the W/S. I havn't checked their site yet but someone said 2 Pedrigon cars will be there.
Ahhh, so many races......so little money !!! lol lol

Long time draglist pal Curt Swartz will be there. Curt's not a member of the message board, but he's contributed since the booklet days. Recently, he's been putting up hundreds of 70s and 80s drag racing photos on the drag lists. Have a great time up there, Zappy, and let us know what happens. bp

Legendary promoter Julio Mara called me yesterday and let me know that after years of negotiations, they were finally able to set up a drag race in conjunction with the East Coast Drag News Nostalgia Show in Henderson, NC. The race will be the First Annual Ronnie Sox Memorial Race and it will be held at Roxboro Dragway on Thursday, October 19, 2006. The Thursday date will be right before the show in downtown Henderson, NC. The rain date for the event is Sunday, October 22, 2006. The race has the full support of Ronnie's widow, Diane. Early names expected to appear and race are Joe Jacono, Bob Rosetty, Dave Hales, Fred Baer, Shirl Greer, and more. Julio is negotiating to see if he can get Linda Vaughn there and to get Bernard Durham to bring Malcolm's Strip Blazer. Jack Redd and Bill Wilcom will be there to help put on the race. Jeff Tinsley will be there to shoot pics. Announcer Joel Thomas will be there to call the action. All proceeds for the charity race will go to the Ronnie Sox Memorial Fund, which supports cancer research for kids and to the East Coast Drag Racing Museum. A flyer is coming together this weekend and will be posted on draglist.com and elsewhere as soon as it is ready. More information to come... bp
